i only have the ps2 version of both games and both games suck
on ps3 thpg would be awesome.

Ugh, I can't stand THP8 the only reason I still have it is for the soundtrack and the pro videos, the games got progressively worse starting with THAW, THAW being the last good game

I still dont think THP8 was that bad, was the sole reason I bought a PS3, grinds finally made you slow down, only took em 8 games.

THPG has a nice city and environment, put the pushing and speed control is so poor it makes it pretty much unplayable in my opinion.

haven't played both games for nearly 4 years but in my opinion thp8 has a better setting than thpg but some places are pretty stupid on thp8 and some places from thpg I like alot.
skating is for me not that different but I can't really remember cause 4/5 year ago you all know what happened

I just put it on sim, set speed to 7 (i think) and the speed is fine, I push with the r1 button for more speed, only problem is i gets maxed out after 1 push.. Its not the best push system but it gets the job done.... I think one reason u find the game "unplayable" is the style of your skating doesn't translate well in thpg, for me it works well because i just do the normal stuff like skate ledges, hit gaps, manual stuff..
