View Full Version : Fluckit opportunity

The hold up on the donations is on my end. I approached both Stoked and Debaser on paying the full amount of Fluckit. Debaser doesn't have a lot of time for this site anymore. Every time there is any kind of issue we always have to bother him with it and thankfully he has kept it alive. He is fully willing to set up a donations thing and we can just keep on rolling until the next problem happens. Debaser is rad no doubt he has kept this place running the best he can without any financial support of any kind, he rarely even visits the site so hats off to him for sure.

I would only do this with the support of the community. I told debaser I would give him notice in 24 hours and time is running out. I would have to switch everything over to my space and I would have access to all of the things that need fixing. I would keep the same mod/admin team and for the most part the site would stay the same (same members and info and threads new server). I think some things need updating and refreshed a bit. I would poll the community and see if there is anything that you guys feel would help keep interests alive.

My feelings towards helping me keep the site go like this:
Fluckit will always remain a free site. But I was thinking a $10.00 membership fee for those that were interested in supporting me keep it going. FOR NOW I see no way of making paid members have more privileges. Maybe a back site access for added chat rooms or threads IDK. You would have a added tag that says paid member. It is going to cost me so much a month as well so it is not just the additional $200.00
This is all very new so I have not had a lot of time to figure it all out.

I am only interested in doing this if you guys are on board and if there is enough peeps that want to at least cover the initial cost. I am open to any suggestions. Or if you do not like this idea and want to just donate to debaser I want to know. I am taking this and all of your feedback very importantly so please be honest. I will not get my feelings hurt or go off on you in any way.

I have no issue with a one time $10 donation/fee.
Just keep us informed on what is happening.

God I would be happy to drop some cash, but being 17 years old with no job, I don't ever *have* money. if I can rake up $10 from what I find on various floors and grabbing a pre-paid card at Walgreens, I'd be game for it.

i definitely appreciate Debaser for keeping this afloat as long as he has, but maybe it would be nice to have someone "on-site".

so i guess the only difference for me is whether i'm sending money to debaser or brian. as long as fluckit lives, i'm cool with it.

i'd donate 10,- $ someone send me details...
i see no problem in spending it for something "good" 'cause i'd just blow it out for cigarettes and some fine herbs...

maybe put in some "captions for donations" where the "blazing a trail" and stuff is.

Mamba pretty much said it. Maybe it'd be nice to have someone who's here, and is active on the site, run the site. That makes sense to me at least.

And what the hell. I can see nothing else in my day that I'd rather spend my money on than fluckit. And as for now, I have the money. I'd support the community with a lot more than 10$ if needed. Just tell me where to donate! <3

I love fluckit as much as any other here, it would be a tragedy to let it go down..
$10 is nothing compared to what I would do for this place..
Like Mamba put it...as long as fluck lives...
Im in.

I'm down either way, but it does sound like a better idea having SG in control.

I'm in for $20 or whatever

You mean "so much" as in a certain amount, not yet determined?

Or "so much" as in a whole lot?

$10 isn't much to ask to keep fluckit going so i'm in.
and i agree with what others have said, someone who is on the site regularly running it would be the best option,no offense at all to debaser.

I would easily pay upwards of $50 a year to keep this place going.

$10 one time is a no brainer!!

Let's do this.

Oh also a major thanks to Debaser for keeping this place alive for so long!

I know it must feel like thankless work since he doesn't even spend time on the site!

Stoked's post really got me thinking. I have nothing but the best intentions. I have the means to do it. But there is days that I would have no possible way to fix some problem. I know I could troubleshoot any problem but I wouldn't want to be the cause of the community to die. This all happened so fast. If there are ever anymore major problems or if debaser just doesn't want to do it anymore then I will take it. I sent him a pm so hopefully he sets up the donation ASAP so he can get his bread back.
Sorry for the delay guys.

I love all the replies of people saying they'd donate to keep this site up....and our YTD donations.......60 bucks. LOLOLOLOLOLOL

EmmitBrown
12-05-2013, 06:00 PM
the 60 is because donations went over the goal when they were needed, and then it reset when the new year came (that's how long ago) so some more people donated but as far as I understand(from "thesignguy" (above)), no money is needed in the near future, so the 60 is not increasing but there are people who want to donate when it is eventually needed.
