I really dug the solo, but everything else was way too chill for me.

Thanks man, I'm real proud of that solo. Was the first take and all improv, happy how it turned out.
As for the rest of the song, yeah I probably wouldn't be feeling it much if it didn't have so much sentimental value.

Yeah, got me writing all emotional like haha. Her fav band is Taylor Swift, easier to get a song out if my head if I just learn it and be done with it haha

Figured that might be what was going on.
That's cool though.. Cool to have someone to get you thinking another way about what you're doing.
I'm not sure if Imogen heap is an accurate reference now that I think on it.. but for lack of a better one.
Had that multi tracking voice kinda deal going on. Imogen Heap, She usually has her original voice
and a more digital sounding recreation of that voice alongside it.
Some songs even sound like she might be using a Microphone synthesizer. Not sure but anyway..
Keep going if you like where it's headed.
I will say I felt anxious listening to the song, Knowing there was a solo somewhere.
Played out pretty interesting.
