Twist of words. oh so clever.
Mostly bangers, Little bit of mash.
Did my very best for the ender.. Something about that area was off. No spoilers.:o
Messed around at the library on and off..
Found some really cool stuff that came together nicely (I thought)
Rendered 720p, Still crashed my pooter. How's it look though?
Enjoy n Stuff.

If it looks like shit, Just wait longer.

the ender and starter clips, what the hell. Plus the drop-in into the bench, hahah. So unexpected. Was definitely pretty interesting to watch. The tile cicker at 1:12, how the hell you manage to launch that with that speed? When ever I use that kicker, my skater stumbles on it.

Yeah, I haven't done much with off-board tricks..
they are really very picky actions, takes some precision.
Anyone who saw my 20th solo knows the ender though, brought it back.
The kicker was odd to work with as well. The bail in there was caused by what you mention.
The easiest way I can describe how to use it is to think of it like doing a wallie up a bank.
I didn't want to settle for the other ramps
Just don't like how they look in contrast with the world.
The faster you go the quicker you need to "Wallie" really it's just the timing of the ollie
and it's hardly noticed visibly with speed, but you will be able to tell if you try to figure it out.
Also, an angle might help depending on the surface it's on top of.
Good luck man. Get to blastin.

ANTWANaintSLACKIN!
Sooo many goodies in this, I dont know which to mention!
I noticed you put "Antwan-Style" in the intro. Good, you should own it. You gotta a great thing goin for ya!
Let me try to transliterate the tricks I liked most (commenting on hardcore difficulty):
Okay, the opener, ender, and all of the off-board-on-board tricks; sheer sickness! Fun to watch, & Im sure they're fun to do!

The sideways stair bonks...Im gonna call em power stairslides; amazing!

That double bench action was something to write home about

And that board stall with the body varial? one of the best things I've seen so far in 2013. Sooo kool. Wish you showed a lil more of the landing, but fuckit, it still got me hyped!

Also liked the song a bunch with the whole pace of the edit.

TOP PROPS!

/list is a thing? Never knew this..
Uh yeah.. haha.

Thanks man.
The way I play the game has never been one set direction
I can be way above the bar, below it and just laughing at it all in one video. :p
As a result I think it's why I lack the comment surge I used ta get
but it's all good. This solo kinda gave me that Nostalgia fix.
Still ideas out there. Just gotta keep looking, thinking, adapting, expanding, Antwan-Style.

It's ok. It made me bail later. We're even.
We're pretty back n forth like that.

Had to watch this a couple of times, but so yeah, I am having a hard time wrapping my mind around how you come up with such tricks, and can only imagine the time you put in to pull this stuff off. There are plenty of gems in here Antwan, definitely an enjoyable and inspiring watch.

Just three little things that rub me the wrong way a bit, personally: back one foot ollies, willy grinds and your choice of wardrobe for this vid lol

Great stuff man, and I am pleased to see we share a love for the best movie ever, The Dude Abides!

Damn it wardrobe is a factor? It all makes sense now.. Gotta rethink my whole clothing approach.
Haha
Glad you liked it.
Videos like this are what happens when I'm inspired, Glad to be apart of this never dead community.
Fuck it dude, Let's go bowling.

Do as you please man, maybe all of it is part of your flow :)

Otherwise, careful man, there might be a beverage there!

It really is though, can't get as creative with restrictions if you ask me.
I'm just gonna stop. That whole movie is quotable. We'd be here all day.

these stair slides are super good, it's nice to see something so completely different for a change.

why is the video quality so weird? capture card and stretched video to get the "(LS) SHOW" thing out of the screen? the proportions of everything seem kinda odd.

Thanks, Yeah..
It's either stretched or a disco flashing "Show"
I managed to buy the only device that does it.
Also rendered 720p..
A bit of quality loss from that. Gotta figure out how to make 1080p renders work.
Might need a better computer processor at some point.
If there is some way to crop without losing proportion Do tell.
Also open to any editing advice in that manner.
I've just been rolling with this process to the best of my knowledge.

Wait, what editing program do you use to put these together? The stretched image issue might be because of the project or render settings being wrong, usually if somebody stumbles on that in Vegas, it's because of the pixel ratio being 1.3333 instead of 1.0000. How does your raw footy look like?

Yeah, Sony Vegas Pro 10.0 It's the only one that doesn't lag for me while editing.
My raw footy is fine. Stretching it is just the only method I've found to get rid of the Show option.
Was saying if someone knew another way to go about it I'd be interested to know.

the LS Show...... shouldnt be a big deal people arghhhhhh, quality becomes dogshit while stretching, fuck it keep decent quality and the ls show (you got a capcard own it)

can you post a screenshot of some raw footy for studies?
I wanna see & measure where the "Show" button is, so I could give a possible solution.

I just hate doing scenery shots with the show button on the screen. :(

It looks like I'm losing about a 4th of the video's left half.

What ever you do, don't stretch footy. It looks whack. Kind of sketchy databending art.

You can either go two ways really:

Standard Definition 4:3 (SD is the shit madafakas! hahah)
What I'd suggest is to to imagine filming in 4:3, so that when you're setting your cameras on your console, imagine that some of the left and some of the right side is gonna get cut off in Vegas. To do so, when cropping, just select "4:3" from the menu on top and slide the frame slightly to the right (otherwise if it's in dead center, it'll still show a part of the "Show" button), and you should be fine.

I have been cropping my footy always, even though not for the same reasons you should be doing, but to get rid of the crappy vig without loosing the fisheye roundness look on obstacles when filming 18-19mm in game.

OR

Anamorphic 2.39:1 (or sometimes rounded up to 2.40:1 // cinematic ratio)
Same with the 4:3. Crop and slide the frame to get the "Show" button out of range.

Best possible way would probably be do an edit only using only one of these ratios, to avoid having letterboxing effect (letterbox is what you get when you watch for example my solo #2 (http://skatefluckit.com/showthread.php?t=13624), because my montage is in 4:3, but the Youtube embedded code in this forum system is in 16:9, thus making black bars appear on the sides).

On the other hand, since collab videos are mostly made in 16:9, i guess you'll just have to deal with it that it's gonna have that Show button in it, because stretching the image makes everything look just too distorted in my opinion.

In Vegas, both Project Settings AND Rendering Settings should be the same:
- width in pixels // sample: 640px for 4:3
- height in pixels // sample: 480px for 4:3
- pixel aspect ratio: 1.0000 (Square)
- Framerate: i see skate game footage comes in NTSC format, so 29.970
- Field order: None (progressive scan) // cause FLV footage is progressive
- De-interlace method: None // again, cause FLV footage is progressive

Some interesting stuff man. I really liked the stuff you did on the stairs.Cool man. Thanks. Wondered if you would get to this haha.

Sorry about the mess people. Kinda took over the thread, Would like to get this situated though.

@Groove
The simplest thing I didn't account for I noticed in your advice
The project settings are different from the render settings.. Maybe that would help.
As for filming in a different ratio.. Filming like it's going to be rendered..
How can you even account for that? I film a certain way. My main focus is the board and the trick.
Film further away? I am just not sure how it would look or if it would even work but I'll give it a shot.
I'll try them all I suppose. Ideas for the next. We'll see what I come up with. Thanks for the posts.

Uhh, what i meant was... how should i explain...
when i made my first solo, i had two thin electrical tapes running over my tv screen. As I was setting the cameras in replay mode, those thin tapes showed me how it's gonna look between the tapes as I crop the footage in post. I hope this helps.
