I had an idea...and instead of testing it I just wanna get the idea out there real quick.

Film your stuff at 50% speed.....make your video project for 60 fps.....Ramp up your clips in the editor to play at 200% speed. Boom, normal speed with a legit 60 fps. Just a theory but it makes sense right? double the duration of the clip, speed that bitch up to normal and boom, 60 fps. IDK if it would make much a difference. You'd probably have to watch it off an HDTV to see but I am curious.
I'll be trying it myself.

even more so use Photo Jpeg to encode it too......

might work, but ya youtube hates 60 fps anyways

only difference it makes is that it fucks the sound up

Haha super true. It's not worth it IMO, just looks weird.

hasn't this already been done? i've always thought that is what this guy does to make his videos look so smooth. if not, what is the effect which makes this video look so smooth?

it wouldn't if you clicked "maintain audio pitch" or something. Its a tick box in the time window in premiere.

I've always thought about that. I know some capture cards can capture the footage at high speed and then you got silky smooth footage. But I don't know.

when i tested 60fps by speeding up a 50% clip i solved the sound problem by using the audio-track of a 100% clip.

like way back pre-patch high res clips without sound where you had to use the sound of a low res clip.

Jupp. Both me and EaSkateVideo used to record at 50% speed, then ramp it up back to normal speed to make it look smoother. It works, but is a pain to film if you don't have a capcard since EA servers are completely unreliable.

Triple Threat did all our videos this way back in the s2 days. it eventually got to the point where doubling up your clips and having to deal with reel got so frustrating we gave up.

and i wouldn't be surprised if youtube throttles it down to 30 fps anyways which makes it pretty pointless.

Between each frame there'll be a gap with no data, I believe, in a pull up like 30to60.
Altho, filming at 50%speed generates x2 the amount of stills, then playing them at 2x the normal speed that means you got twice the data every sec, so I really don't know.
Offtopic, in my opinion, motion blur adds alot to the feel of the videos, what you're showing and what you want people to stare at. For example take a look at Hobbit's HFR version, you don't know where to look, you pay attention to every detail because everything is focused and crisp looking

youtube does drop to 30fps, that's why we always used vimeo and Wegame

also with how close everyone films now, it tends to mess with people's eyes and turn them off to the vid.

It does work tho. I've done entire fulls in 60.

Here's an idea of what 60 looks like with the 50% trick

a Full... 8:45 is an example of one of the greatest EA Skate. styles of all time.

Vimeo converts now...

Just a warning…
We have some recommendations for this video:
This video is over 30 frames per second. To optimize playback for other users, we'll automatically convert it to 30 FPS for you. In the future, you can reduce file size and speed up this upload process by using a more standard frame rate. Check out our Compression Guidelines for more information.

I can tell it's slightly smoother with roc's test video, but it doesn't look like it's worth the effort, at all.
Unless you got the patience and a capture card of some sort, doing all this with ea's webside would be such a bitch.

The capture card does make it a ton easier especially if you want to do the sound correction. the editing portion isn't really all that difficult.

As for the sound, the 1st trick and the 3flip lip didn't have audio correction because i forgot to cap the 100%
