I've noticed the 'hate' towards rollerbladers has come down a lot though, scooters are the main focus these days, fucking snakers.

I don't hate on bladers, as I respect the skill required to do that shit. Same goes for bmx, ice skating, gymnastics, etc. Equally as difficult as skateboarding in their own respects. I wish I was good at ONE of them.

But for some reason I chuckle every time I see a rollerblader "grab". I'm like, c',mon dude, I can jump up in the air and grab my shoe too. Behind me, in front of me, wherever. You call the grab, and I'll do it in my pajamas while frying an egg.

Unless you are actually pulling on your skate to tweak it, I don't see the point, even stylistically.

Feel free to school me on the subtle intricacies of rollerblading. I am clueless.

Basically, with 1 footed grinds, it's a way to show control of the trick. Without the grab you have 3 points of weight to balance with. With the grab you've only got two and if you miss it's not as easy to catch yourself.

Where I'm from 1 footed grinds don't count of you don't grab.
