Ok i just want to help you guys and myself but albert is on meth and most of the kids in the community listen to him, you remember the game changer website some of you didn't really listen but the rules behind that is if it gets 1000 likes then it gets looked at. I know this might be a waste, but atleast my idea isn't $500,000 so there is that

Here is the link: http://www.easports.com/gamechangers/ideas?campaignId=30375

This is old news. There's been a million and a half people posting "Skate 4" on that site. It's not gonna happen.

Tomorrow.

What happened to dude talking about a new skateboarding sim?
I'd rather back something new, still might fail but skate 4 is a bigger leap.
Next gen would be dope for a skate sim, other than nba, I've not seen a reason to spend $500.
Already said it but meh history repeats until we change it.
We need a game plan, might be able to pull it off with the right sponsors.
Even then it's not going to be easy.
Skate is great but I'd say it's dying and leaving.
Should start with a controller scheme, utilize the d pad or something.
If we wanna get serious anyway.
Otherwise, it was a good run.
We will not be able to replicate skate and it's very unlikely we will get rights.
Then again I've yet to see a real effort, who knows, it has to be organized first though.
We can't get likes and money and just hope it comes together.

I've thought about how an indy skateboarding sim would even be rad, I don't actually care about that it has to look pretty, and it would be easier and cheaper to make

There will be a new skateboarding game, it just wont be something any of you put together. Lets be real. None of you have the resources or connections to do anything other than talk about making it happen...and getting some likes and a couple bucks wont cut it.

When a developer sees money in making a skateboarding game, they will. Could be in a few months, but likely to be in a few years. Skate game is never going to match up to FIFA or an FPS title profit wise, thats why we could be waiting a long time.

A petition or kickstarter isn't going to help shit. Harsh truth of it all.

This is why all hopes are going to the potential of an indie dev right now. Look at SNOW. There is ZERO AAA interest in a skiing sim, but even in Alpha SNOW is a smashing success for an indie team. Hoping the same happens with a new skateboarding game.

Exactly. As of now I don't think skating is really in the spotlight as it was, say, half a decade ago. Still very popular, sure, but it doesn't have the attention it once did, so there's not much profit in any sort of game that would be released. Might just be my point of view.

30m, I had no idea the bar was that high man.
Phew! That's EA for you.
I've heard more than enough underdog stories though, maybe stupid or optimistic.
Somehow I see it happening for less, no sponsors, no pros, no brands, music tracks made for the game specifically.
I think you could cut down costs drastically just ruling those things out.
Hey lil Wayne, want your own skateboarding simulation game?
He may just be the perfect benefactor. Just saying.

sponsor's pay you, so if you're thinking of how to fund something like this you might want sponsors. things can get done for shoestring budgets but technology costs and knowing how to use it is an in demand and pricey skill. so for a shoestring budget you will end up with an outdated looking game, unless you or someone you know (who will work for next to nothing) can supply something that would otherwise take up a large portion of your budget (whether equipment, knowledge, extremely intense man-hours, creative up-to-date coding skills).

who is erin gray in the skate community?
I might be completely wrong about it, but I've always suspected it is someone on DP. Maybe Jack Barclay?

But as I said, it's just my guess. I have actually no clue :D

Captain Cool Pants himself

If it could be done for 500k, it would've been done, that's a no brainer.

FYI- # of units sold

Skate 2: 1.05 mil (360)/790,000 (Ps3)
