just a note:
i drift irl. very fun, been doing it for a couple years now.
forza 3 adds ability to upload 30 seconds of footage at a time.
well, ill be making montages and whatever other shenanigans i feel like... :cool:

Built a drag car last night with my roommate.

C5 z06, yellow, c6 zr1 motor, twin turbo'd, bored .2 over to 6.4L.

Best run 11.4, still needs a tune tho.

Had to drop the rear end down to 3.10s cuz anything higher would roast the rubber through 5th lol

I drifted a lot in Forza 2 but got very bored of it, that game has been out for so long.

I'll probably get back into it during Forza 3. I'm not much of a tuner, but I could drift very well.

You must really be ripping yourself off if after a week and a half of doing that you still can't afford one game...

I had Forza 2 cause it came with my Xbox, and it was fun for a while... but I can only play sim racers for a little while before I get bored. Drifting is what I'm all about though, which is why Dirt 2 was awesome. Won't be getting Forza 3 myself, but I'm sure I'll play it at some point down the road.

Layout A is a big open parking lot/air force base type area, with lots of obstacles, and cool shit to do.

Forza Motorsport looks much better.
the track has more detail.
you can see the rubber from the tires on the track.

yeah I got a wheel a few weeks ago and found some setting suggestions online that really helped make it a better experience. Turned down the force feedback to like 50% and the vibration down a bit too. Made some minor deadzone adjustments as well but reducing the force feedback was the biggest boost to playability/control. You're not fighting the feedback, you're just feeling it.

Blackhawk - thanks for the setup! I haven't tried it yet because I've already dropped a load of cash making it A class. So when I went to apply your tune to it, Forza wanted me to spend like 140k on parts... so I'm just working on my own setup for now until I make some more cash to try yours out.

Speaking of... what's everyone's favourite ways of making money? Best bang-for-your-buck races? Anyone deep into auctions?

best way to make money: R1 endurance races, hire a driver. takes an hour with my Audi. 80,000 with all assists off, and AI on medium. (will get you the win for sure every time.)

Are you guys able to upload videos? Every time I try I get an error message after about 10-15 minutes telling me the "Video did NOT upload to forza.net" - I always love the not being all caps... lol

But I get this every time... I thought it might be connectivity issues, since I used to have trouble doing skate clips every once and a while...

After about 10 different attempts, I still haven't got a clip to show for it...

I need some b-roll fodder for a skate solo!! I want to show off my ride!!! lol

lost all my settings/ect for doing Forza vids, so here is another test.

Tsukuba left hander, elevation change can give some troubles...

here's how I do it:
E-brake in, throttle control + counter steer, hold angle and mash the throttle out.

Hey Embers how did you make your stand for the wheel? Get some plans online? Just freestyle it carpenter-steez? I don't use mine much because I can't use the pedals with it on my lap. I use paddles for gas/brake but I don't like the extra wear on the paddles and damnit I want to step on the gas. Think I need to just man up and build a stand...


EDIT --- Ok... so Forza videos can't be uploaded to youtube straight off the site... it fails to convert after uploading. Lame. Gonna try wegame or just convert myself before uploading. Why's everything always have to be so damn complicated... lol

BC, i just made my stand. pretty simple set up.
there are SEVERAL plans on youtube/google/ect... just search "Microsoft Racing Wheel Stand" or anything related.

you have to convert the clips off of the Forza site.
I use Total Video Converter, converting them to Mp4, then use vegas to edit it up.
I got the converter program with "internet magic" ;) and im not sure how long ago, but its been quite awhile.
