I know this has been asked before but i'm too lazy to go back and look for it.

what's the best cap card? i remember hauppage being mentioned, but which one specifically?

or which is the best for the price? i have some money to spend but i don't wanna pay 200 for something only slightly better than a $100 one.

Hauppage HD PVR, it's what I have, and it works great, fast, simple, literally takes two seconds to export.

I had to get additional software for it to work on my Mac, but I think just the PVR itself was roughly $200

I don't know a lot about Cap cards. I've never paid attention to them because I've never needed one.... but for 200 dollars... it must do a lot. I hope so.

Component cables from your Xbox into the "in" on the PVR.
Component cables from the "out" on the PVR into your tv.
USB cable from PVR to computer.

not sure if this has been mentioned but it only allows you to capture in 720p but thats not a big deal...I would recommend getting one for sure
