Fluck, why tell everyone a name when you can drop a video:

The MC Type (Jeff) is a helluva nice guy who doesn't get the fame he deserves. If anyone ever hears me say something to the effect of "Lil' Wayne is a HACK" this would be why.

Hip-Hop > Rap. Period.

I like the song, but you lost me at the "Hip-Hop > Rap. Period." part.
I'm part of the old school of music for the most part so my viewpoints on Rap and Hip-Hop aren't exactly what most people might think now.
Rap is a lyrical medium that is about flow (technique), solid rhymes, works with the beat, and for the most part has substance. It's an artform.
Hip-Hop is the culture imo.
Hip-Hop as a lyrical medium is all about Style over Substance. It's there to show-off and make yourself a spectacle. It's a business.

Tupac was a rapper.
Lil' Wayne is a Hip-Hop performer.

Think of Rap VS Hip-Hop as a werewolf movie.
The Howling = Rap
Underworld = Hip-Hop

Just my ranty 2 cents.

Ah, around my neck of the suburbs we just call 'em the opposite way around.

In my terms, hip-hop is the substantial stuff and rap is the superficial fluff.

The wall-art, the b-boys, the turntablisim, those are element's of hip-hop to me.

Flashy necklaces, large rims, deep posse's, grills, and any other way of screaming how small you think your dick is without making sound... Those would be a few of the very few elements of rap.

Or:

Hip-Hop = The original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Rap = The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Understood, I know it's viewed different by some people.
KRS-One is great at explaining things.

“Rap is something you do. Hip Hop is something you live.” – KRS-One
