Footage Help?

So I want to record whats on the 360 / TV but dont want to pay for a capture card. I have Svideo and Hdmi hookups through my TV and Laptop...

Any suggestions?

What kind of laptop do you have that has hdmi? If you can hook it up either way (s video or hdmi) pull up windows movie maker and see if it is reading the signal. if that works record a 30 demo make sure it all works. if everything is in check i'd look into sony vegas or the adobe movie suite.
