If you have any questions about them feel free to ask. They're not in any order. Just browsing through iphone.

The only Rap/Hip Hop I listen to is from the 90s(NWA, NAS, Biggie, Tupac). Not a big fan of that genre these days. Mostly, I range from all different areas of rock. Bands like CKY(obviously), Fireball Ministry, Rise Against, Foo Fighters, and many others. I mainly like songs that have a meaning or a good message in them. Anyone can "write" a #1 hit, but if it doesn't mean anything then what is it for?

Yeah The Mix Up was a good record. Saw them when they toured for it. They've always been great musicians.... but it was great to see them perform as a full band for a whole show. I would have loved it if they did a few old hardcore songs....

Good idea for a thread, makes other people, including myself, discover new stuff. Wiltz video was sick, but Stevie's... the girls were hot, but the song was terribad ;) hahaha

Lately, I've been listening to a lot of Sonic Youth, Explosions in the Sky, Notorious BIG, Yuck, Foster the People, Her Space Holiday, Nico Vega, Ice Cube, Wu-Tang, Trivium, All that Remains, August Burns Red... just to name a few. As you can see, I have extremely varied tastes in music lol

I like anything really and don't restrict myself my to types of music. If i Like it I like it. that said since I was about 11 when Jungle/Drum and Bass started taking off in the Uk I've pretty much a D'n'B fiend. I like listening to it while I'm walking to work. Recommneded artists are Andy C, Shimon, Moving Fusion, Netsky, Memro, Noisia, Camo & Krooked, Rollz, Sub Zero and Loadstar to name a few!

Some like bands for the sole reason they are "underground." Its lame.

I second this. Also, there are also the idiots who like bands just because they're popular. Music is turning into a fashion statement to the public, and it's getting really annoying. I can ramble for hours about this, but instead I'll just leave it there.

What do you mean with this statement?

I see people all the time that are bragging about what they have on their iPod, or only listening to music because it's the song everyone else likes. Just like fashion, people dress because that's how you're supposed to dress. A ton of people don't listen to music just because they like the music, half the time they don't even like it.
One example of this is that a song on the radio everyone pretends to "love," and then after a week the song is "old" and thus they no longer like it. REAL music doesn't feel dated.
People use music as a way to say "Oh hay look at me I'm cool" instead of actually finding something they really connect with and feel for. I mean, listen to the radio for like 10 minutes. The music they play on there is lackluster, far from creative, and everyone gobbles it up because if it's the "New thing" they want to be part of the bandwagon.

Can't agree more with this as well. I cannot stand listening to the radio with the shit music that plays. There's maybe 1-2 radio channels I occasionally listen, one which plays old classics from bands like metallica, acdc, etc. and another one which plays alternative/punk rock/indie like the offspring, modest mouse, nirvana, etc. As long as it sounds good to me, I'll listen to it, popular or not.

Music has always been a fashion statement for the general populace. This is not a new trend.
Hell, music becomes a literal fashion statement when you see how many rebellious punks trying to be unique all wear the same fucking "Punk Rock" uniform for example.

OMG fuck yes, I agree with you so much

Freelance Whales song was sooo mellowed out, sick stuff! Karma Police is probs my all-time fav song from Radiohead, either that one or Talk Show Host, really love that song.

This weekend, a friend of mine introduced me to a sick Canadian band, called Walk Off the Earth. Here's a song that got me hooked to them, called Somebody that I Used to Know. It's a cover, but how they remade that song amazes me. Check it out:
