So yea funk/disco has been my life recently. cant listen to anthing else . wont listen to anything else. trying to get my hands on a new synth. something vintage. Ive got the fever. anyway enough chat...

Hell yeah, that was some funky stuff. I like it a lot :)

aww yisss, kung fury! that trailer was brilliant, the music contributed to that, love this song.
and since I saw okwiider post a funk song, funk/disco is a big part of my life too! this is my favourite, which probably everyone knows already (if you don't, WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK).

Damn, I love that song so much. I can never get tired of it, whenever I heard it I become so happy :)

That's a classic in my pops books ahah nice one Granka!
some good ol Lord Finese breaking it down with a big mix
https://soundcloud.com/lord-finesse/...e-east-village
-
Hell yeah, Lord Finesse is the shit! That was a dope mix, a really good listen!

I really got into this dude last week, my friend played a lot of his stuff to me for a while and I had a difficult time to start liking Spark Master Tape. But I gave it a try and I've really fallen into his music now. I like the production by Paper Platoon and the raps by Spark of course, but Spark Master is also a master (no pun intended) when it comes to the visuals of his videos. Although this video is footage supplied by fans of Paper Platoon and Spark Master Tape.

love that shit! would keep the train going but I gotta let some people here my favorite music :p
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H780lPs5FMw
Canadian Indie Pop/Rock band, Alvvays. This is one of my favorite songs off of their first and latest self titled album. They surprisingly don't have much of a fan base either, although I think they really could grow in the next couple of years. This style of Indie is rising alot
-
Really good stuff, man. Pulled up their album on Spotify and gonna have myself a listen of it. I like finding new bands in this style/genre. They sort of reminded me of Best Coast.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYTk5OARAuE
This reminds me so much of The Doors that it gives me the shivers.
-
i like. i dont know what happened with me and crystal stilts. i was into them at one point. i just fell out of touch with them. great music though.
http://youtu.be/JsqLxdZx-cw
going to break the flow for a minute. this is a song from what is perhaps THE GREATEST GAME(interactive play?) i have ever played(experienced?) Kentuck Route Zero. i was going to write a review on this game as well as another game hipsterish game ive recently played but KRZ isnt actually finished yet, and the other i havent finished yet. and im lazy. but i will eventually.
-
That was a really cool song, really smooth. I've actually thought about buying that game for a loooooong time now :D
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWJqmEwmbAQ
This song is so freaking beautiful, I found it in the game The Swapper and I had to download the soundtrack immediately when I heard this song.
-
lovely. i have a real soft spot for really atmospheric/drony soundtracks. almost envokes real emotion. almost.
i actually have swapper on steam but havent really got around to playing it. i will eventually. mark my words.
http://youtu.be/l9T8EUKTswI
i shouldnt really have to explain this to anyone....
-
Duran Duran is one of those bands that I've never got into but I always enjoy their music whenever I hear it, so yeah it's was a cool song for sure :)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1v_VXLb1Yk
I absolutely love this song, when the guitar comes in at 0:17 is such a kickass moment. This band was huge as fuck on the underground indie/punk-scene in Sweden when they were active.
I took the liberty to translate the lyrics so the non-swedes can sort of understand what the song's about.
Verse 1:
Why should I care about blending in
That it burns in your eyes doesn't affect me
You will always be blind
I want to live my own life
Die my own death, but everything takes time
You are lost in your peace of mind
Chorus:
Let them hate us
As long as they are scared x4
Verse 2:
Just because you're paranoid
It does not mean they're not out to get you
What are you talking about? What have you heard?
What the hell do they know about me?
Must be painful just to be watching
Just sitting there and complaining in your dark corner
Do something while you're young
Time subtracts
-
I'll be surprised if nobody has posted this yet. It's such a great song, gotta be in my top 10 from 2000-2010
http://youtu.be/UskSU5BoyZs
-
not my style but definitely not a bad song. plus tim and eric put a smile on my face so thats good.
http://youtu.be/RyJ-RDS4iQk
i guess im an on again off again pants fan but its hard to deny that HES THE FUCKIN MAN!
-
Funky and nice, I like it a lot!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtRYHdfxtoE
One of my favoritesongs from this year. I was also fortunate enough to get to see them perform live twice this summer.
-
I liked it, although I usually hate that kind of stuff.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0s7e32EOiCU
My dad used to listen to this stuff all the time when he was my age and I've really been getting into it also recently.
-
I love the distorted sound that jumps in right after the intro. Riff towards the end was great, too.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMwLb5b8Kuc
Been a fan of The Doors for a decent time, but this song caught me off guard. The piano in the bridge has such a full sound compared to the more, thinner, eerie sound the verse has with the guitar and keyboard.
-
everyone knows the doors nothin more to say to ithttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AYYQmH3GpM
art from italy
outstanding song starts at 5.03
-
I only listened to that song at 5:03 because I didn't feel like listening to unknown music for 20 minutes :D And for the song, well I highly dislike this screamo-type of music. The instruments were nice, but I really can't stand the vocals in screamo and such. So yeah, I'll rate it 6/10. And yes, I just rated for the first time, I just wanted to give you more than me bitching about screamo :D
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAAPi509Lsw

cool and simple synthwave. i like. this guy/girl(unsure) had that song in Drive iirc. nice song.
http://youtu.be/UADdmdc9QTE
cant understand a word. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ still love the song though.
-
kind of trippy haha, I'm gonna go listen to some more of their music!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tdw7kxD8eUc
Honestly if you don't enjoy this kind of music, you aren't a human. This is great even 40 years after
-
Fuck yeah, Al Green is one of my favorites. I've listened to that one sooooooo much!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlBnJ0egT_4
-
never really been a huge andrew WK, but definitely a different style, i can respect that.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZK4Un_LcQU
hard to pick a favorite, just because the songs are so short, but they flow into each other so well.
-
love that shit!! how about some lyrical wizardry?
http://youtu.be/MvPnM2Q1nwU
-
Hell yeah, Blackalicious is the shit! And I loved how the beat continued to go faster, that was awesome.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMXZgzYnzlk
-
Really nice voice. If it were soul or r&b i'd love it even more but still a nice song nonetheless.
http://youtu.be/xea7mK4jReA
I remember that dirty pleasure song thread or whatever a while back. Maria minerva would be at the top of my list. And L.A Vampires. Man amanda brown.... I would do it all to that woman idgaf.
-
I'm down with that song for sure, I like the vocals a lot and that dreamy sounding beat. Nice!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toG4bHjPLEU
-
Not bad. A bit to loud for my taste(or should i say mood atm) Video was really cool though. Also i knew the name of the band sounded familiar. They did the soundtrack for Max Payne 3. One of my favorite games/soundtracks. Thats song tears is amazing.
http://youtu.be/OjiNROf_U4Y
Learned about this song through a cover by eddie golden iii(amazing musician). Instantly smitten.
-
Gonna have to go listen to some more of their stuff, this was awesome!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8mGyUeDbCs
I just recently found this band and this has got to be my fav song I've heard so far.
-
-
good as shit. kind of reminds me of the cure, minus the vocals. run for cover is a solid label.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6wYuhLxXm8
-
this was really not my cup of tea. didn't like the vocals, music was ok. the part from 1:22 to 1:28 was cool though, I liked that.
I've been listening to so much metal lately. like TesseracT, probably one of my favourite bands now. I've seen them live and they were so fucking amazing live.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asNMm8Y99Dk
-
That was a decent song, even though it isn't at all as the metal I'm used to listening to.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbpkuLJPy9c
I like how the internet allows these types of musicians to exist and build a fanbase. I like the dark and filthy feeling in this song and video.
-
Ugh i honestly cant stand bones. I listen to similar musicians like older spaceghostpurrp stuff, robb banks even a bit of ethelwulf(or whatever he goes by now) a guy he collaborated with once just to name a few. But bones is where i kinda draw the line.
http://youtu.be/vBg7kvxnJ10
For those waiting for the doom and ghostface collab. Youll have to wait a bit longer. Still cant wait for this ep. BBNG and ghostface are a match made in heaven.
-
11/10
BadBad can do no wrong, and DOOM is god. And then Ghostface... Damn, I don't think I've ever put him last on a list.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuQGfk9Gmgo
-
I approve of any thing flying lotus related. This song is no exception.
http://youtu.be/8WmOszGRZmM
Was thinking about uploading this myself but once again youtube came through. Master of modern funk right here.
-
Since it got taken down on YouTube I listened to it on Spotify. Oh man, that was awesome! Everything about it was perfect, the waporwave-vibe (or whatever it's called) in it was so nice!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEOximWoFd0

Shouts out to Kentucky Route Zero and The Swapper above. KRZ is dope as fuck and that song has so many plays on my ipod.
so is run the jewels, run the jewels is dope as fuck.
I've been listening to this whole album on repeat pretty much since it came out, but this is one of my favorites.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVsQwJfWzoI
-
that was great, so smooth and it got real soul. Not a big fan of d'angelo but I liked this.
Here's some more djent like tesseract I posted earlier but a bit harder and a bit less technical.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a90qThTEyU4
-
meh, not really into that type of music, I listen more pop punk/emo than anything
