Literally, how the fuck do you guys do this consistently. I mean I can do like the basic ride up tricks but once it gets into tricks like flip>stall or air>stall I either end up flying out or being sent backwards.

It's a matter of maintaining speed, mostly. At least, that's how I do it. You can't be going too fast or too slow. Use pumping and powerslides to keep it in check.
haven't played S3 in a long, long time but its all about controlling your speed.
You can pump with UP on the left stick or with either of the grab buttons.
Holding a crouch keeps your speed in check and will cut your pump short.
Its all about getting the feel and timing for what you need to do and when.
For that last wall Push up on the left stick to get your weight over the coping,
but once your weight is up push down on the left stick, timed right it really helps you get into lip tricks

I feel like its easier to learn in skate 3, but some people might disagree with me there. To me its all a matter of maintaining correct speed and knowing when to start the trick.
