The first one is like that, and it's quite bad in that respect. AC2 and on doesn't have all the reporting to do, and there's a TON of side stuff. I mean, I'm not trying to change your opinion on the series, just saying it does get WAY better. Most of the fanbase hasn't even played the first one (although I personally still really like it) because they think it's awful.

I've played brotherhood as well, and I kinda liked it, but it just bores me. I really can't tell what it is.
Like, I love the parkour elements(I love Mirrors Edge, Tomb Raider, Uncharted), and the stealth elements(Hitman, Dishonered). There's just something that bores me.
Also, the reason I hated the first one was because I didn't realize that you were able to quicktravel. xD
That's a lot of horseback travel.
Oh dear god XD
To keep this from being Assassin's Creed discussion:
Another thing that bugs me is the internet attempts to bastardize the V for Vendetta Guy Fawkes mask and what it really is supposed to stand for. I love the movie and its message, but goddammit internet.

I found all AC's boring too, while all of my friends love it
Did I say Crazyjay?
actually playing assassin's creed made me think of this:
in a game when you have to follow someone and they walk faster than you. but if you try to walk fast or run, you're faster than them. is it that hard to match speeds?
Who is Crazyjay?
I remember a mission in Revelations because of this specifically
You meet with one of the guys from the brotherhood near the docks, pass guards and learn to distract them with bombs
Before you learn to distract them with bombs you walk right next to him up to speed you're not actually walking yourself
it looks more like the blend system only you're not pressing any buttons not sure why it's just that mission..
I believe it's a mission in Revelations anyway.. don't have the game anymore or I would check.
I think its pretty funny that Anonymous use the Guy Fawkes mask considering when he was caught and interrogated he gave up all his accomplices and committed suicide.
4chan (mainly talking about /b/ here) isn't that "anon we are legion" heavy anymore, its pretty much brony threads and trolls trolling trolls with reposts of memes.
/v/ and /vg/ are decent sometimes though.

Kinda late but this thought right here is the OTHER half of what I mean by people misinterpreting the mask. The Guy Fawkes mask isn't out of glorification of the actual Guy Fawkes, it's purely for the message of the movie. The idea that people have the power to change everything about their country, for they truly hold more power than any government ever will. The mask represents the people that aren't too lazy or afraid to get up and make a statement, not Guy Fawkes. This thought process would be the same thing as if someone thought a Michael Myers mask was worn to celebrate William Shatner. People need to realize this.
EDIT: The original people behind the "Anonymous" movement did not have the wrong idea with the mask, it was highlighting the people's power to make a difference. Unfortunately, the whole "Anonymous" thing got way out of hand.
