RL skaters would rather play Skate...
The last thing a skater wants to do after a long RL sesh is come home and stand on a toy board for an hour...
I think they've just alienated their core audience...
i get what you're saying, but as you said in your first sentence real skaters arent their core audience
so while they've lost any hope of converting skate fans, they may be delivering exactly what they're core audience wants...the ability to pretend to be able to skate, and this puts the user one step closer to thinking he/she can actually skate
