yacht club and devolver digital ftw! i'd buy a new .skate in a fucking second though. nothing but wet dreams if you ask me. wait 3 or so years and we might see one. i have a feeling they will treat it like ssx
I wonder why none of the Dev's are members here, even if it was to dip in every year or so, would love to have a session with some of them.
The current Skate 4 "Conspiracy Theory" involves a Skate sticker showing up in the online Need For Speed: World game...

weird the forum is down er something, the skate 4 conspiracy thread...
Thats pretty cool, but mostly a easter egg/homage to BB since they are OG NFS Developers, I could be wrong but I think I'm golden on that assumption.
hope for a skate 4, it will be amazing. Whatever happened to BluntLabs, if anyone remembers that, the site stopped getting updates. unfortunately. hopefully something came of that.
God I hope not. Tricky is one of my all time favourite games, but that reboot in what 2012 was just awful.
Pro Skater 5 will have to suffice. Its not going to be the PS we remember and love, at least I can't imagine it will be due to lack of Neversoft. The screens did remind me of when we first saw skate, but Im not even as close to as hopeful as I was for OG. Stick a replay editor in and it'll keep me entertained longer.
I still feel obligated to check it out, even though I know the remake robomodo was bad and this will be as well, it's still a new skateboarding game.
If you want pure nostalgia for THPS though, Thug Pro is a must better alternative.

I don't know guys, could go either way yeah?
Not familiar with this new company taking over THPS but They dismissed blackbox and we still talk about a skate 4.
Having someone else thinking outside the box just might be a fresh start.
It could be mediocre at best but it is something new.
A park creator, American wasteland's customization and a new intuitive control scheme would probably be my dream TH game personally.
that's why i don't want to see a skate. 4
as far as thps, i really doubt we'll see anything legitimately different from the previous games. it's a franchise and they're just ringin the register. we need a new ip to actually get what we want. the problem is the things i want in a skating game don't seem to sell well enough to warrant adequate budgets and sequels. we got lucky with Skate. ...we got lucky 3 times in a row.
Some of us are familiar with Robomodo, and played the THPS HD game they created. It was a nice attempt, but didn't feel like a true THPS title at all.
It's possible they did re-vamp everything to better suit to what Neversoft created, but it's not likely. I hope they will prove me wrong though.
Also, who is 'they' that bad mouthed blackbox when og was on it's way? I never heard a single person talk poorly about it.

i read the write-up polygon did of thps5 and it gave me severe whiplash
lol I cant believe this company. reading that quote made me furious. shame on Activision for publishing this and capitalizing off it once again. EA needs to make a move before the S3 buzz dies off. Make some money lol
bengrover, do you recall when THseries tried to implement a replay editor, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLbehAQ51QM
they went in with it. overwhelming to say the least when OG was so simple to understand. both released around the same time.

Oh were they behind THPS HD? Cool.
Yeah, not sure an HD reboot is a fair project to start assumptions over.
Not what I was saying at all man..
Certain members left blackbox on their own at first, correct me if I'm wrong but up to now this is my understanding. Blackbox was still a team, the team ended up getting the boot because sales fell short with Skate 3. Point being, they were dismissed by EA after skate 3 and just like this Tony hawk pro skater 5 situation there is a new team on the project. I was just saying a skate 4 is likely going to be another team if In the unlikely scenario a skate 4 did come out.
That quote is pretty funny, Trying to remember when shooting projectiles happened haha..
I can't recall though, want to say there was a kind of mini game in two player where you would "tag" eachother. It has been a while for me and that series though, shot in the dark.
You're thinking of Firefight I believe. Also THUG 2 had projectiles in some of the stages, so eh.
I'm with Derk though, an HD reboot is *definitely* fair to start assumptions over, because that's 100% a test to see how well they can maintain the feel of Tony Hawk games of the past. They were literally handed level design and assets from the old games, and then fucked up the only thing they had left to do themselves: the physics. That's the single most important thing in any skateboarding game, arcade or simulator alike. If they can't get that right, there's no reason to trust them on anything else. Not to mention they also did Ride which was an absolute nightmare, and then decided to bother with a sequel that was literally no better than the first.
