    Console, PC, handheld?
I started to think back, I have to say I believe I had the most time on Playstation 2.
I was alot younger, and the games seemed so damn good at the time too.
So I started making a list of games I remember in grave detail, made me smile just thinkin back.
(Tip, use wikipedia if you need help remembering.)

    Dead to rights 1 & 2

Def jam fight for NY & Vendetta

    Wwe smackdown versus raw

Had so much to do back in those days.. Ahhh.. Anyone remember anything?
I would also like to compile a sega genesis, n64, Ps1 and original xbox list.
Thats pretty much my gaming history other than a short gameboy color phase and a slightly longer gameboy advance one.

Havent played those titles on original xbox tabloid.
Is RTS good on handheld? Ive really only played two that I can remember on PC..
Command and Conquer Red Alert and Age of Empires 2.

Roc you havent invested more time in a console than PC gaming?
Pretty wild man, I was never too invested in PC.
Diablo 1 & 2, Quake, fable and the mentioned RTS games was about it for me.
In fact I've recently thought about purchasing my old systems again versus a PC.
Emulators are nice but nothing beats the real thing. Pure nostalgic bliss.

After reading this list it made me realise that I don't play many games that have an ending...

Not to the story, but to the game. I play games that just keep going, like Forza and Skate, Minecraft and Space Engineers.

    Im such a nerd.

not a chance in hell. i didn't have consoe (other than a short stint with dreamcast) between SNES and 360. i grew up playing counterstrike, half life, and rainbow six.

I have owned just about every console since the Atari 2600. It would be hard to say which console I played the most, but a fair guess would have NES, PS2, and Xbox 360 as the Top 3. Although, overall I think my time logged into PC games eclipses my console efforts. I had over 10k hours of game time just in World of Warcraft before I quit back in 2012...

I've been a pc player ever since I was 6, started with megaracer 2 and quickly after that age of empires 1/2.. My first console was a nintende 64 where I played Turok, super mario 64 and pokemon stadium.. My first own bought console was a gamecube which I bought just for super smash melee and after that a xbox 360 just for skate. But in between I've always played my games on pc the most, primarily because the games I liked the most weren't playable on consoles, strategy games.

Dreamcast and Gamecube, I think, no idea how many hours I put into those consoles. I was obsessed with Phantasy Star Online for years, from 13 - 16, I played it every day on weekends and after school. I can't imagine how much money my dad put into it because it had a paid subscription when it was put on Gamecube, 15 bucks a month. After I turned 16, my appeal for skateboarding took over everything and then Playstation 2 became my main focus. Tony Hawk's Underground 2 probably stole a good 500 hours from me from playing online and such, maybe more, I'm just guessing. Nothing has come close since, but with all of life's interruptions, how could they?

Great stuff guys, I really do enjoy hearing about the past systems.
Really missing them lately. Everyone had a bit of a different experience but console gamers seem to have Atleast tried systems were all familiar with which is cool.

    Haha, oh man, counterstrike..
Had a few months with that forgot about that series. I had a short run in, bought them all in quick succession.
Even bought and played half life 2 then went back to see the first one through.
I really wanted the orange box on 360 but even when the price changes that bitch is like 20$ to this day. I've been picking up cheap ass games lately.
I would say counterstrike 1.6 was my favorite at the time, then condition zero and source was ok but really only played condition zero when I found a cal-I clan and played source with friends. Really served no purpose when they all stopped playing it.

Age of empires was addictive back in the day! I don't know if I would be as into RTS these days. Might be worth a shot at some point though.
Original super smash? Man, we used to play that bunched up on the couch. Lose and pass the controller.
A lot of the franchises are still going Huh?

Well, I looked at my console history like this to figure which one I was on longest, how long were their lifespans you know?
When were they discontinued, and when do you suppose you started using them first?
I believe the PS2's lifespan was about 10 years roughly, could be wrong on that but I'm rolling with it.

Oh man, yeah, I loved all the tony hawk entries at the time of their releases. Probably obvious at this point in my posting. I didn't waste too much time on them but throughly enjoyed those games.
I didn't know anything about the online side of console gaming until the old systems were less popular sadly. Wasn't the connectivity worse then though? Wonder if I really missed out haha.
The first time I experienced online gaming was with the original Xbox. It had already been out a while and my friends were die hard into halo 2.
It was so crazy though, they had some kind of hook up where they would go on this website click a link and join a lobby on the Xbox. It blew my mind.

^^ @antwan re: old online consoles

i used to play online with my snes. the modem was called xband and it was available for genesis also. it was a thru-cartridge, like the game genie. you plug your phoneline into the side of the xband and a game in the top.

    Haha that's wild man.
I used to get into quite a bit of single player games.
Anything competitive I would find friends to play with.
Likely would've shelled more time with other games if I knew that stuff at the time.
Have you browsed the systems on Amazon?
The pricing is so odd right now, the consoles regardless of how old are going for 20$ aswell.
Some of the games are as high as 100$ though!
I would love physical copies of everything when I venture back down memory lane.
Hear things about porting games to empty cartridiges and CDs though and wonder if that's more cost effective. Emulator ROMs or something?

handheld rts is definitely a different vibe for me, mainly because most are turn based and tactiacal rather than 'in the action' so to speak

CnC and AOE are also some of my favs

    I'm trying to remember haha..
I think I played one on game boy advance way back.
Advance wars? It had more a cartoonish vibe to the graphics but it was ok at the time.
I am intrigued about playing something age of empires style on handheld so I may look into that.

Double post Versus a new thread, Sounds good?

    Playstation Network, Xbox Live Arcade.
What do you guys think about digital exclusives?
I mean, we didn't have the option back in the day to download games.
Now some of them are only released online.
Do you think it's a reason last gen is still going?
Kind of hard to say what the revenue is, Seems like it would be decent.
People could stop buying them though, always a possibility.

    Chivalry
    Trials HD, Evolution and Fusion
    Counter-Strike Global Offensive
    God Mode

All being titles on the XBL Arcade I can see myself wanting to play again.

To my own surprise most of my digital purchases have been games with online replay value.
While my physical disc collection tends to have a good single player aspect.

Online on Snes? the fuck? That was totally new to me and Snes is probably my most favourite console I've ever owned.

My most used system must be PC i think. But if we're talking consoles, then I think it has to be Playstation 1. I had it modified and had about 20-30 burned games. I might've had more on xbox 360 or ps3 with the gold/plus giving out free games. But there's alot of them that I never played. I played all my ps1 games.

Playstation 1 was good, didn't really have a lot of games for it though.
Siphon Filter and Tenchu being the most memorable to me.
I'd like to know more about this mod thing though, I've only heard of people modding the original Xbox.
Can you do it yourself? Would save a ton of time and effort if those resources are still out there.
I Would consider that option now more than ever.

    Edit

    Looked into it a bit.
It is a piece of hardware, physical modification of the console.
Only saw one modded playstation on eBay and nothing on Amazon but did not dig through all the pages.
The chips look more common than the modded console.
If you know how to soder installation looks straight forward.
If anyone else was wondering like me.
I'm going to reach out to some YouTubers about porting to NES and what not too.
Heard a few of them mention porting to empty cartridges as a final resort.
Some of this is probably common to people familiar with the subject but it's new territory for me. Any other information would be awesome.
