Appocalypse Now: Not much to say, if you like it, you should watch Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse, a documentary by Coppola's daughter about how tuff was filming that masterpiece.

Shichinin no Samurai: This movie influenced ALOT in the movie industry. Plus it's a Kurosawa movie; Akira was perfect in everything he did, from choosing costumes, to direct the characters.

Full Metal Jacket: I like everything about this movie, Kubrick was so careful, meticulous and precise. Every shot in this movie is full of small details that make them even better. Also, D'onofrio's acting in the first part of this film is something from another world. SO GOOD. Also, soundtrack is so good to, get the BF: vietnam feel when listening to it.

Ronin: Is one of the best action movies ever made, Frankenheimer raised the bar by coming up with that last car chase down the streets of Paris featuring Dreidre on a fckn E34 M5 (which is actually not. Just a 535i with ///M details) and Sam (De Niro), on the Peugeot.
Proof we don't need 5 million dollars sets, millions of angles, explotions, crashes, and Michael Bay behind the camera to truly enjoy one good 1 on 1 car raw, pure, car chase.

Pulp Fiction: Quentin is deff one of the best directors ever born, everything about this movie is memorable, every little line. I enjoy watching this movie and thinking how well Tarantino did working on it. I forgot, the soundtrack is so friggin good.

The Big Lebowski: STFU Donny. I think what I most like about this film is Buscemi's paper, it's so insignificant, yet peculiar and great.

I don't feel like writing anymore cuz I have to go soon so I'll just list the other ones:

    Donnie Darko
Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai
    Serpico

And many more I can't think of right now. I love movies so much, it would be so good if we have a 'what movie you've seen lately' thread or something, where we could recommend films, and review what we've see (without spoiling anything heh).

    Easy:

-City of God: Brazil drug life
-A Beautiful Mind: One of my favorites; Nash Theory.
-Godfather (1 & 2): To omit Vito is to omit opulence; can't do that.
    -Scarface: Tony Montana; nuff said.
-Training Day: Arguably one of Denzel's finest roles (but I concede there are others in his collection that are a worthy replacement).
    -Schindler's List: Just watch.
-Ocean's 11: The boys took the bank!
-The Excorcist: Still one of the benchmarks for scary movies/horror.
-Wall Street: Every investment banker of the last 20 years will list this as an inspiration; certainly was for me.
-Anchorman: The most quotable, laughable, all-around brilliant movie Will Ferrell has ever done. He's been steady falling since...

    R

**Edit**: Special mention to Asian cinematography (so good!): House of Flying Daggers, Hero, Memoirs of a Geisha, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, etc etc.)

YES! those 2 are a must-have too. Ocean's 11 is a movie a watch everytime I catch it on tv.
And yes training's day, both Hawke and Denzel were great in that film. Denzel is such a good actor. As you said, one of his finest roles, along with, IMO, his papers in The Manchurian Candidate and American Gangster.

    Yes!

a few that has yet to mentioned:

Scarface, because of how it affected real life criminality. Terrifying.
The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, because it's a fucking trip and the special effects are suprisingly well done for such an old film. I warmly recommend this film to anyone.
Reservoir Dogs, well, it's Tarantino in all his glory.

    ^^
So many memorable quotes in that movie man, that's something not too many people think about when watching Tarantino's movies: Arguments. Tarantino isn't all about blood/gore/splatter/black humor. It's all about arguments, like, for example in Reservoir Dogs:

    Mr. Pink: You kill anybody?
    Mr. White: A few cops.
    Mr. Pink: No real people?
    Mr. White: Just cops.

So many good lines to point just one but what the hell.

Oh, the I don't tip bit. My god...

    I forgot also:

    Taxi Driver
A Clockwork Orange (Kubrick did so much for the filming industry, besides the artistic part, like introducing long-term close ups shots, the use of the dollycam/steadycam).
Kill Bill's (again, tarantino with this western-spaghetti-ish films kept up doing things like from-the-trunk shots he introduced several years before).

I downloaded the Star Wars Saga the other day, saw chap. IV and V last night, and I'll finish watching them 'all this week. I've never seen these before, and I bet I'm going to put the saga in my list of must-own...
