This my letter to the Editor-in-Chief of gameinformer

Hi, you don't know me. I'm just a gamer who enjoys reading your magazine. But this isn't about that. I'm part of the Skate 3 community. Now you may be thinking "Skate 3 community?" Well, let me explain that to you. It's more than just people who goof around and upload funny clips to the skate.Reel and goof off. It's group of people who have a common interest in making videos, complex graphics, and dedicated teams. While we all have lives to follow and jobs to work, this is a common hobby we all share and love to do. But EA has given up on the community, and started to focus on more "important" things like Battlefield 3 and The Sims. Don't get me wrong, those are both great titles, but I really want the reel taken care of. You see, sometime around the middle of November, the skate.Reel stopped working for Skate 3 and Skate 2. While everything works fine in-game, On the website it loads a blank screen for everything except for graphics, and for graphics, you can't send to game, it will just say "cannot retrieve in game graphics". And for Skate 2, the reel "works, you can still upload things, but when you search your name to download your clips to make a video, it says an error has occurred. Some of us have gone to customer service, but you can tell that they're just reading from a script, and don't care what's happening. The EA Skate community is very much alive. Here are some websites with proof of that fact:

    http://likebuttermag.com
    http://skatefluckit.com

And then here some videos of customer support conversations (not mine):

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wUvW-7cSKI

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DN7DXl1UbN4

There are more conversations like this, you can go to customer support and try to talk to them about the problem.

This isn't letter wasn't written to complain about the problems Skate 3 and 2 are having. This letter wasn't written to tell you that after Skate 3 made enough money EA abandoned us. No. This is about how we still love this game, there are people that still play it, and we don't want it to die. If there is any way, you can get through to EA about this, please I beg of you, do it.
    Sincerely,
    Jay

(P.S. I checked EA's list of games that they put the servers down for, and Skate 3 and 2 aren't on there. They have to give us a 30-day notice about that.)

This seems all pretty hopefull. But we can't change what ea is planning. It's all about money, we can't change ea, they'll have to spend thousends maybe millions of dollars for a new game and the skate community is just too small.
Yeah the support team is ridiculous but this is how it is, they're useless for every game.
Also if you want to get help, contact Cuz, he helped us when the servers where down the last time though he has nothing to do with the skate. series anymore. He has connections to people who might care about such issues.

    Ok I have an idea!

Why don't we see how big the community really is outside of LB and Fluck it. There are plenty of people who upload videos on YT that aren't part of fluck it or like butter community.

We could use one of the free online petition sites, if anything just to collate the numbers etc. Get people to leave their GT/PSN and which games they own from the series.

Spam the graphics page on the site with links to the video and petition etc.

Between us, we must have a fair few subscribers on youtube. Lets create a short video of what we have brought to this game (PVR I will need your help here for clips from PS3 peeps) and what we wnat EA to do, and each post it on our channel with a download link, and ask people to DL and post the video on their channel as well.

Its not gonna cost us anything to do and can't hurt right? Never know we might get a big response, if we do send it to EA.

    Anyone down?

We have to take the fight to EA so I'm down. Put this thread on LB and we can spam the EA forums each day with separate threads. Maybe a drastic increase in Forum posts will get their attention. Let's formulate what we want in this video.

I care and in case you do get a response, and maybe they want to do an article with you, I can back you up and share my frustrations too. Just let me know if you need any support.

Heres my letter to ea, if by some act of God it reaches someone who gives a shit:

Hello, I have been a supporter of the Skate series since the Skate 1 demo. I have bought nearly all the DLC for the last two games. I am an EA customer. Myself, like hundreds of other EA customers, are experiencing unacceptable issues with the game and have been since the game's release.

    To elaborate:

-It is nearly impossible to upload videos to the skate.reel. It was troublesome as soon as the game was released, but now it is out of control. This is a feature that I paid for and am currently not able to enjoy.
-Sharing/downloading/uploading skate.parks, and graphics: This is also almost impossible. This is another feature that I paid for that has not been right since the beginning.

I have talked to customer support in person. I have followed the troubleshooting guide. I have chatted online with customer support, and went through the scripted dialogue that was absolutely no help.

I have been told on more than one occasion that "it is being looked into." The situation has only gotten worse, and stayed worse for a long period of time.

I need some reassurance that is a little more personal. These pre-fabricated answers with no results do me no good. I want to know what is going on. If things will not or can not be fixed, I want to know.

I realize that in the broad spectrum of your corporation, Skate 3 is just a minuscule part of your revenue and customer base. Especially when compared to Battlefield and the Sims. But this game is hardly a year and a half old, and was NEVER right. We are paying customers and we all feel taken advantage of. The functions that we can not use are things that should only be deactivated when the game's servers go down. Instead, we have been without them for the majority of this games existence.

I want feedback on this issue, and I would like to request a phone call. I would like to speak to someone who has the ability to give me some sort of information , rather than the Customer Service Representatives who do nothing but read from a screen and ask me to clear my cache, or open up ports on my router.

Well All I'll say is we wouldn't have made it this far if Blackbox didn't care
so lets not dwell in the past.. but move forward..
The active approaches I appreciate and enjoy to read
but even in posting you guys talk about how horrible their service is
it might make them reluctant to help.

antwan, i m pretty sure telling them how awesome they were at managing this online service will help...
the only option is telling them how bad they are and make it public...

I don't know man.. I'm glad people care about the ability to use the service..
but It was never perfect and I don't see that changing for a little thriving community.
Don't get me wrong fluckit is bigger than ever now but it's still a footnote in comparison to EA's projects.
I just don't see the benefit in downing them about their service when you're in fact trying to revive it..
that's just my perception.. my observations..
maybe I'm thinking too much on it, but I think they deserve something dare I say "respectable"
for giving us anything at all.

I'm just saying it was always horrible.. I don't see a point in bringing it up now?
