I'm voting for Ron Paul to stop all this nonsense.
I'm voting for Ron Paul to stop all this nonsense.
And while crazy things are happening all around the globe, The United Kingdom doesn't have a better idea than bringing military ships planes and crew to the Falkland islands, and my country, with less than 3 combat planes and a total lack of ground forces, starts pushing in the UN for a 'peace agreement' and a justified (by geographical and historical matters) land recovery.
The worst thing is that even I am against what my country is asking for, because we legally deliver our lands (with one of the finest and biggest oil basin in the world) to England in some stupid trade agreement which we thought was going to be prosperous, but it wasn't.
Fuck politicians, atleast the ones that are in charge now.
WW3 ? lol
The world is fucked.
I don't want to get into it right now, but man, are things fucked. This Israel/Iran thing right now is just peanuts to the reality of the energy crisis that is barreling (no pun) down on us, and we are not even beginning to discuss it from any kind of realistic perspective.
The free ride is over folks. We've been living on resources that took billions of years to create, and we've burned through them in a few centuries. It started with coal and steam power, which allowed the first phase of industrialization to happen. Jump a few steps, and you get electricity, which brought about a whole slew of advances and benefits, but also deepened our addiction to energy because it became pervasive. But the killer is oil. That thick, dark, mysterious liquid we discovered not only got us hooked on gasoline to power the combustion engine (which is sooooooo inefficient itself, and that's another story altogether...) but it is now the lifeblood of pretty much anything we do. And I don't just mean the gas that powers the motors. The carbon based chemistry that has developed from the discovery of oil has been used to prop up and enhance allllll sorts of aspects of modern life. From the manufacturing of pretty much ANYTHING you buy - if it's not made of plastic, it's packaged in plastic - to the food you eat - our soil is dead, we just pour oil on it to make it fertile - everything involves or directly depends on oil.
You think this Iran thing is about nuclear weapons? Get fucking real. There are literally THOUSANDS of nuclear weapons already made, ready to go, lying around the world. The threat of a country actually being able to enrich enough uranium, or mine enough plutonium, or even build a hydrogen bomb... well it' just pretty fucking slim. For the enriching, it is INCREDIBLY expensive and energy consuming to enrich uranium. The threat of China, or Russia, or any other nuclear country, selling/losing nuclear weapons and the the necessary delivery systems to use them is more of a threat than some rogue terrorist state developing it themselves. Not that I am saying Iran is a rogue state... because it is not. It has been a country for thousands of years and has a relatively stable economy and government. They just don't like being told that they aren't allowed to sit at the adults table and possess nuclear technology.
So Iran is about oil. It's all about controlling the oil. We are like crack addicts that have somehow learned to actually nourish themselves with crack. We've been getting so high for so long we don't even realize we are actually living on crack. AND our dealer is about to run dry.
Good luck with that.
b/w
I need to print this out and just hand it to people who ask me why I don't want to have kids. lol

The whole China factor is what is really making this Iran thing crazy though, as has already been mentioned.
China is ready to suit up and get busy. They KNOW what is at stake. They need oil more than anyone.
God if Ron Paul actually gets elected president... I don't even know what I would do. Not that I love the guy. But he is clearly not been bought by Wall St. or special interest groups. He will tell the people how it is. No bullshit.
But that is NEVER happening. I think he'd get assassinated before it ever got close to happening. And I am not kidding one bit.
The sad thing is that we're past that.... people don't even want to hear the reality of things now. They are just gulping down more and more bullshit hoping they'll get used to the taste.

Ok, it hasnt been mentioned yet, so here it goes, the "Jesus Standpoint" We're all expressing opinions here, lets be mature.
War against Israel is inevitable, as described in the Bible. But also according to the Bible, Israel will stand, and so will the nations that support Israel. There are historical events and phenomena that support these things that were prophesied almost thousands of years ago:
Israel became its own nation in 1948, this was prophesied in the bible. (if you choose to accept the mathematics people have come up with, the bible even predicts the month and year)
Israel, an entire COUNTRY which is smaller than the STATE of New Jersey, surrounded by giant countries with huge military forces that have been trying to destroy it for years, still hangs on. This is prophesied also.
If Israel and Iran do go to war, the US will most likely get involved, if not to look good and be supportive on a global standpoint, but also because the Bible says that those who dont stand with Israel will fall. Past presidents havent outright stated that this is the reason for their support of Israel, but they have to at least appear to hold christian values, and the strong Fudamentalist Christian vote says that we support Israel for this reason.
There it is, my opinion and thoughts, with a little bit of backup sources. Please be gentle Fluckers
That is an interesting angle. I had never really thought about the US just backing Israel out of some weird fear of a biblical apocalypse.
While I do believe that the people controlling the US are Christian in their beliefs, I do not believe it motivates them politically. Unless it's to pander to the Christian voters in the country. I mean, creationism is still taught in school. The religious voter base is BIG.
I still think the main reason anyone in the US gov is talking about actions against Iran is the oil in the region. Iran is not simply going to nuke the US. And they aren't bombing Thailand. All of this is propaganda to position Iran as an enemy/threat and ease public support towards military action. The nuke threat is the big issue simply because it is the ONLY thing that the public will really accept as a reason to invade.
The US spent years in Afghanistan and Iraq, and neither of those countries are ANY better off or more "democratic" or "westernized" or "modernized"... The US needs to focus on it's citizens at home. Period.
