BELIEVE THE HYPE!!!! fap fap fap fap fap.... anyone else play this yet? i'm about 6 hours in on hard and it is one of the best games i have played.
I was waiting for someone to make a thread about this beautiful game. i beat it already, best.mindfuck.ending.ever.
1999 mode is frustrating
Never got around to playing the first one, but I was thinking of getting Infinite. Just hope to find the time to actually play it.
bioshock 1 was the best game i have ever played. period.
i didnt watch a single trailer of infinite, and i am so happy i didnt. having this game completely spoiler free is something i will remember for a long time. another reason to keep posts spoiler free - it just makes every game so much better of an experience.
i dont think its better than bioshock 1, but it is the best non-sequel / first game in series i have ever played. might even be just as good - i'll see if i'm still interested in the game after 10+ playthroughs like i was in bioshock 1.
believe the hype is a good statement.
i got it tuesday morning, beat it friday morning (having to dodge university commitments). then on saturday i played it for 14 hours (my second playthrough in one sitting, as well as starting the first half of my third). that pretty much says it all.

You didn't miss much, the trailers hardly showed anything
I got it on tuesday and was going to play it later but thought to myself "fuck it"
played it for 12 hours straight, 10pm-10am. Blew my mind.
I didn't like how you could only carry two weapons and you could not stock up on health like in the previous ones
Looks creepy as too toos!
"Release your inner homo" - Valleyboy420
bought it. played it a bit but then i went away for the rest of the week. heading home today but with a fucked up arm. hand is pretty much useless as well. cant grip anything. fml.
SHOOT TO TICKLE!!
bioshock 1 was such an incredible experience for me. anything in the trailers was a spoiler. because it removed the
'hey thats a cool new enemy' or 'wow this gun is awesome' or 'that setting is incredible' moments.
i am very happy having not watched any trailers, and its something that i'm going to aim for for all my future games.
finished the game yesterday, easily one of the best I've played through in a while.
Just started yesterday. Not reading these posts in case of possible spoilers, but holy fuck is this good. I'll be back when I beat it.

already going on playthrough 2,even more fun w/o the learning curve.
time for trophy whoring!
Beat the game. My mind is fucked and I feel hollow inside, but god damn was that worth it. I could discuss the complications and intricacies for days with someone. Unbelievably well written story, it couldn't have been better. Bioshock 1 and Infinite are easily two of my favorite games. ever.

Ken Levine is a fucking genius. I have nothing but respect for that guy. Christ this game was amazing.
I've been discussing the game with other people on reddit at http://www.reddit.com/r/bioshock. I'd really recommend heading over there to get your thoughts straightened out if you're confuzzeled about the ending.
Is it ok to talk about spoilers here? Cause christ I've been dying to talk to someone I 'know' about this game. It is the most emotionally connected I've ever been to a game, maybe apart from the walking dead series. Christ this game was as close to flawless as anything ever will come.
Thanks Levine, for Systemshock 2, for Bioshock and for infinite. Christ you're a mastermind!
Well all this banter definitely got me more interested, I'm sure I'll pick it up sometime soon, or maybe I'll wait a little longer for the price to drop since I might not play it that soon
Ken Levine is my favorite personality in gaming. he has heart and puts it into the games which is important to me after years of dealing with the souless ea bullshit. this game is as close to perfect as i have ever seen i think. the atmosphere is unreal. i think this game will be remembered for a very long time
I have beaten the game 3 and 3/4 times so far (i've had the game for seven days).
I also included a playthrough of the original in that timeframe.
I personally don't think it is as good as Bioshock 1. Bioshock 1 is so much deeper, and aside from the last couple of levels, was perfect.
Bioshock Infinite is vastly streamlined, and more high-octane (which is fine in small doses).
I am still incredibly happy with how it turned out though, wow
Elizabeth is the single greatest video game companion I have ever experienced. It sounds cheesy as fuck but this is the only game I desperately wanted to ACTUALLY protect my companion character. I got insanely immersed in the story. I spared lives because she'd scream whenever I killed someone who didn't need to die, or I'd desperately scramble for a solution to a problem that was actually more or less just a cutscene and I couldn't actually do anything about.
Fucking incredible design in a game.
The ending made me completely hollow inside for the rest of the day, but it was perfect.

managed to finish it before i went to get my arm casted. greatest game ive ever played hands down. i just love it. got set back abit because of an autosave prpblem but i couldnt care less. i was happy to replay. its just crazy how fast things elevated. the comtrol he had over the citizens and how willing they were to help him(on the zeppelin for example). and elizabeth, fuckin elizabeth. she is the perfect companion. i agree with luft. it wasnt like some shitty skyrim companion where if they died that was it. id just go and find another. if she was was in harms way i would framtically rush to save her even though she couldnt die in combat. and when you execute with the sky hook she would react in shock or disgust. fuckin loved that. and last but not least the ending. they took a big risk with the ending. it took me forever to piece it all together. it made things earlier in the game even more confusing once i managed to piece it all together my mins was blown. and the supposed second plot twist. to much for me.this game deserves every award its can get and even then its not enough. i really want to discuss in depth. title of the threas should be changed to alert people of spoilers. ill stop talking now. hard as hell with only my left hand
SHOOT TO TICKLE!!
Elizabeth was amazing. No doubt about it. Whenever she got taken away from me I would do nothing but frantically haste after her.
The scene, and this is SPOILER, where you have to rescue her from the chamber where the doctors were doing shit to her, man I went into a rampage. I didn't give a fuck, didn't take cover, caught my self out of bullets, didn't mind, fucking melee'd my way through 5 or so guys. I even caught my self running against bullets firing at me, all the way up to the closest I could get to the goddamn turrets and blew it to smithereens. This is the only game that made me feel that way.
If Liz wasn't with me, and if she was in harms way, I'd turn into a bloodthirsty maniac, chopping through anything with my shotgun until I got her to a safe place.
I miss her. Goddamn it, I need to play it again. After I actually play the first two. Never played them so went out and bought them so I can immerse myself in the entire universe.
Christ this game was magnificent.
first game is just as amazing as Infinite, you'll love it too mads.
second one is still good, just not as good.
Elizabeth will deff become an iconic figure in gaming.never have I played a game where the person you're "escorting" has been far more help than burden.
SAME SPOILERSame here dude, I fucking tore through fuckers. That was the first time in the game I didn't take note of any cover, any strategy, I just fucking undertowed them into me and blasted the fuck out of them. I spared the doctors, and was heading out when I heard one of them joke about her screams being alike to an animals, and I just stopped, turn around sprinted back the fuck up there and blasted that fucker to bits.
Fucking love this game.
EDIT: And yes Mads, or anyone else, DEFINITELY PLAY THE FIRST ONE TOO. There's also a book explaining the entire history of Rapture. I recommend that as well.

This isn't really a spoiler but I guess it kind of is.
If anyone has beat 1999 mode yet, any tips on beating the third Handyman(the 2nd vox one you encounter). There's like 3 guys with rockets tearing my ass up so I can't really one on one him
Also, shame on you mads for not playing the first two! jk
Who else got the Bioshock 2 special edition?
(p.s. someone should make a spoiler thread. So we can discuss the ending)

Oh god, yes. I LOVE the hand cannon. It and the sniper rifle are my bread and butter
I don't know if it's the mode or what but shock jockey never works on that btard. It stuns him for about a millisecond and then he proceeds to bash my face in. I was lucky the second one got glitched and just stood there. I guess I'll have to try again with shock jockey and Devil's Kiss
i had one just stand there and look at me as well. i just put devils kiss traps everywhere then ran to a machine or a flask to re up on my salts. they were easier than the big daddys where in the 1st game at least on the hard difficulty. i think because of the open spaces you are given to fight in. i thought it was more fun to battle handymen though. i always fought every battle as far of a distance as i could doing chip damage while i waited for them to do into one of my traps. also at one point i completely surrounded myself with shock traps and he wouldnt come through them to get me so i just unloaded on him
I've gotten every trophy(achievement for you xboxers)but the ones related to 1999 mode.
haven't gone far yet on 1999 but it's definitely tough, especially starting out since if you die with less than $100 you're back to square one.
I usually don't care for playing on harder modes but this games deserves the effort to get all the trophies.
