@m7 as ayreon said, cap-card is the key, no more processing, no waiting, just film record and finished, takes a 1/3 of the time you normally need if uploading. so there is no witchcraft involved

hauppage hd-pvr gaming edition (its like the normal hd-pvr but with fitting cables for ps3, 360 and wii) costs something about 200,- $
this doesn't look that bad either (link. but i don't know how good it works, brings the same resolution than the hauppage but is hdmi instead of component.

System Requirements
TV set requirements
To use HD PVR to record game play using "no delay pass through", your HD TV set needs to have a Component Video input. Component video is also called YPrPb and are the red/green/blue connectors on the back of your HD TV set.
