just skate online. you never know who you will run into. or you could spam people from the community with invites. that is what i do

I make really good edits and most people just flock to me or I know someone from a friend of a friend or I just add cool cats like the Cap Faction folks to my friends list. But anyway are you 360 and/or PS3? Also PSN and/or GT?
