Older Windows Install. Sony Vegas is not an option as an editor this time around.
Can't use the same capture program either, VirtualDub. So I need a new capture program too. Suggestions?
I really need to de-interlace my captured videos as well.
The movement stuff blows. Solutions?

Projected file size from captures in VirtualDub were 20-30 GB for a 2-3 min skate vid.
Even if I reformatted, I wouldn't have the space.
So I can use windows movie maker to capture straight to a video file..
The file size is extremely low but my video editor can't do ratios for shit.
In Theory, VirtualDub can De-Interlace and Re-size videos.
If I switch up the file type to work in VirtualDub there may be hope yet.
Probably a bit of quality loss coming but if it works It would be better than nothing.

download a trial of pinnacle. you have a free 30 days. literally one of the cheapest and easiest to use because of unlimited tracks(ultimate version 89 bucks right now actually $120+) The deal for ultimate comes with 2 pplugins worth over 100 bucks each apprently.....which I doubt for some reason. But either or. There is a solution....for 30 days.
Havent messed with that pinnacle much might be one of my only options though.
Bit off topic but what do you make your hip hop days in saunders, just a video editor?

Advice with Pinnacle?
I used all HD settings, MPEG2. Still kinda hard to look at
HipHop days are recorded with my video camera and edited inside Pinaccle, actually im using AVID which is the exact same thing just a different name.
I record in 1080i so I always have to De-interlace and render at 1080p or 720p .
what kind of connection are you using.....component cables.....composites.....(red blue green or red white yellow) Svideo???
or what exactly is your connection...to capture?

Well, I settled for the quality there.
Now Pinnacle is randomly fast forwarding every time I capture.
Nothing fancy though
Red white yellow, female splitters and the s-video.
Every time I think I've got something going it fucks up haha
I hate these machines.
You wont be able to render HD using composite cables and get good quality, creates artifacts and blahblahblah.....keep it SD and your quality should become a lot cleaner and easier to look at. If that doesnt make any sense.....Ill have to get a lil more detailed I guess.
depending on what your tv is try 480p...... maybe your tv is even 480i
what's a good and cheap sd cap card? I don't need hd.
they all are pretty much hd, but can record in sd

btw i have the Elgato Gaming Capture HD, its $159 but is more worth it in terms of reliability and compatibility. also.....its easy as fuck to use. not that other cap card arent, but from what ive experienced with my last one, i had to do a lot to capture a clip. make sure i had the clip set up. have two programs open, click record, make sure the clip plays trhough. hope no notifications pop up. hope the porgram doesnt crash, hope the cap picks up the screen.....yea....it wasnt nice.

So you can deinterlace in pinnacle and I have been but my captures are grainy should I try capturing in I versus p? Im lacking ram on the laptop too so maybe that has something to do with HD formats and framerate jumps. Noted, Ill figure it out now.
