The two IMO, Know whats up. But the difference is that the Skater has the essense to understand and portray the creativity, while the Poser tries to mimmick Creativity.

And that's where Style comes in to play.

    Just my two pennies.

p.s. I dont know if any of you caught the mongo pushing post on bluntlabs blog, but that was on point in terms of opening up about how the game should be played out. so to speak. Choice in the matter.
i like what you said, suprised i havent posted on this yet. i dont really have any fancy comments about pyshics or any of that bs. if you wanna make a game do it. wanna make a game about skateboarding, do it. wanna make a good game about skateboarding, make sure Derk isnt in it.

That's okay, I'll make some scooter-tages when that new game comes out.

So I was reading through the project blank blog.
How do you guys feel about losing the points system?
It sounds strange to me, what kind of game modes don't have points..
    Besides s.k.a.t.e ?
I see this as an issue, I could be wrong though.
so what game modes can you all think of?
Some people are going to combo all day, nature of the beast.
Eliminating the points system, hear me out, it sounds like there won't be much else to do.
I respect the project and the person's decisions behind it.
    I'm just talking here.

Why do people skate in real life with no point system? That's what kind of game I imagine. Legit. I honestly don't care if there's game modes. Just physics, skaters and environment. Sounds pretty sweet. My opinion.

You get what I'm saying though right?
It might even mean no career mode.
I feel like contests were a big chunk of career gameplay.
    I enjoyed it anyway.
So the way I'm seeing it, a freeskate game.
Honestly I'm just interested In how it would work.
    Sounds crazy.

he has stated that it is a realistic sim game for skaters and skateboarding. None of that junk matter to that core.
Now if he tries to sell this to another company (or if any bigger company gets their hands on this in any way) they will have to incorporate something like you are describing into the game. I personally never played any form of career or "point assisted" portion of the game since OG. OATS rushed out a full in the very infancy of Skate 2 and we pushed one out as much as often. With my schedule I just never got around to it. I really never had any interest for it though.
With that said I have no problem with it in the game. If anything I would rather it be in their for the people that want it. A successful game means a successful franchise.

The only reason I even bothered with the career mode was to unlock stuff I would then use in freeskate. So that leads to "hawking" just to get clothes, equipment, etc because unlocking stuff was based on beating challenges based on points. If I could skip that nonsense I absolutely would and in my opinion the game would feel more "pure." I would be doing what I wanted because I wanted to and not because the game said I had to.

Edit: SG made valid points. I wouldn't mind if the choice was there, but I don't think there should be things you can't access if you don't "beat high scores" or anything...for the sole reason that skating is about what the skater enjoys, not what tricks some knucklehead thinks are better than others.
