    Thanks guys, I still have a long long way to go and many things to clean up, a few minor bugs left. But I'm not anywhere where I want to be with it. Animations, I'll keep trying to improve them, but unless I do a kickstarter and miraculously get enough to hire an artist and animator or do legit mocap (last mocap session fell through for many reasons) the hard truth is it'll probably never be as good animation wise as I want. But I'll keep chipping away at it, hopefully itll be good enough.

    If your concerns are really high with the visual aesthetic of the game, something worth noting is that if you have any abilities whatsoever to do modeling or animating (or have connections with someone who does, and would be able to help) a 100% "realistic" visual style only works at the highest end, and usually makes the product as a whole look significantly worse at anything lower than AAA value. It might be worth considering going for a more stylized approach (not CARTOONY, but simply something that doesn't look like it's trying to be more high budget than it is).

    On the lower end of "stylizing" would be games like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 -> American Wasteland. Proportions were ever so slightly squashed and the textures were more "clean" than detailed, allowing the game to age a bit more gracefully. (going for a lower poly look could work on a nostalgic level while requiring less professional help, as well)

    On the further end of "stylizing" would be games like Jet Set Radio, which still look solid today, but would require more artistic talent on board and a really carefully designed aesthetic to not come off as "childish" (Personally I'd love to see more solid sim-esque games use art styles like this, when you can slightly exaggerate animations and hand-craft them instead of mo-capping, the gameplay can come off as significantly more smooth and have great flow)

    (gameplay looks incredible so far by the way, this is astounding)

    Thanks for the input poppy, I suppose my goal at the moment is to eventually roll out a kickstarter or partner up with a talented artist or two. One for the environment and one for character art. I know I can personally do better than what you see now, but the issue is more time than anything. Not to mention, paying someone with a decade of experience will go a lot further. That's the end goal anyways.

    That's cool, I had no idea what your plans were apart from grabbing some help in the future (how much help, what kind of budget you're aiming for, etc) so I figured I'd give my two cents on the matter. Although to be honest even if the visuals looked like crap I'd still be excited to play it, so I'm sure that says something about how the gameplay looks so far.

    Thanks for all the positive words guys! So I've been working on a day night cycle and made a new test map, which is based on a skatepark in Japan that I always wanted to skate after seeing this montage which is just no where to be found anymore. Got tired of the old map. Let me know what you think:

    Well, it pays the bills so. I'm not getting anything currently for the two years of prototyping and countless hours I've put in to the skate game. I gotta get paid man, bills don't stop just because I'm passionate.

    But on a side note, if you haven't played real vr, as in the rift or vive, and only messed with mobile vr or psvr, well of course you'd have that opinion... but real vr is fun as fuck.

MONEY SUCKS ................. but im not sure about the VR .. there are people who say a butt-plug is fun too but i still have no need to try it . i think is just a rehash like all that 3-d bollox that not improved since hittler invented it .. vr is basicly a shit looking fps game with a sweaty helmet on .. nah thanks ..

    I'm not stopping the project though, just instead of spending 8 hours on days I work 8 hours, and 16 on days I'm off working on the project, I'll have to kick in hours here and there. Already fixed a lot of crazy bugs today just in the last 4 hours of working on it. Sending a new build to the play testers in the next few minutes, we'll see how that goes... Basically, it'll be slower progress, because I've been working like a madman... And I'll get back to it full time when I get the free time.

    whats the minimum requirements for this, I need to be prepared. I got a gtx880m/i7-4800 atm which is fine, but im definitely getting something for this haha.

    I'm not 100% sure the minimum specs. But I know it's been played on a computer with a gtx960 and played with no hitches. I also had a friend play on a Mac with a virtual machine, but they had to lower the graphics all the way and even then it barely worked. I'ma do some testing soon and let you guys know. There are a few people I'm going to send demos to soon. After they get back with me on performance and bugs etc, I'll optimize one more time before I send demos to Youtubers and Streamers and make the official name announcement. Then, you some of you guys will get demos either at the same time, or shortly after, provided you are willing to sign an agreement saying you won't distribute the demo etc. Can't guarantee that the replay feature will make this demo... but after some time goes by, either I'll release a public demo or announce a kickstarter and have the demo as a reward.

    question about the replay editor, also the game in general. I cant recall if it was mentioned already but is there a target framerate you want to reach, cause Im hoping 60 frames in the replay editor, or higher if your computer can handle it, unlocked frames or is it locked?

    Good lord watching this evolve over the next few years is gonna be amazing.

    The way I intend to design the replay editor is that it stores positions and rotations over time, between 30 and 60 frames per second. Then it interpolates between those transforms during playback, so the frames per second on playback will still be what ever your running, it's just that what happens in it is a recreation of all the snapshots that get interpolated through.

    I don't plan, for now, on capping the frame rate. But at 144hz and above, there are some minor hitches that I have to work through and it's not honestly my priority right now. I may never officially support 144hz unless I know it's working 100 percent, but I don't plan to stop people from running that way, if there are any obvious problems with it I'll throw a disclaimer up.
