I've decided to actually take this game to completion. I am working on the game full time, or at least as much as I can from now on. I've made some huge break throughs and I can't wait to show you guys more.

Yeah a few people have mentioned how dark it is. All of those kinds of issues will be addressed when working on levels that will actually be in the game. But keep the critiques coming I can't make it better if I don't know what I can improve on.

About a demo. There are some more key features and more bugs to get to before the public sees something playable. But there might be a select few I'll let bug test periodically.

This is because the hardest part of Project Session's concept is stuff that takes longer to make presentable. The complicated control scheme, making it work without being too awkward, etc. etc.

Also, Project session has a larger audience to present their progress to, meaning they have to make sure that things looke better visually (models and textures need to be done before they show current progress)

I'm still equally excited to see where both projects lead.

If i recall correctly, West's control scheme for this game is relatively similar to that of P:S's, if not pretty much the exact same. As for everything else, that is true. I understand them not wanting to show too much too early for fear of people getting the wrong idea (which pretty much happened already lol)

Sorry, I worded that really poorly. I meant more along the lines that they're trying to completely establish/finalize a lot of the control concepts. Because this game is being made by one guy so far, there's not going to be a whole lot of debate over what should be what (triggers for turning for example, was a debated thing for Project Session, while some people wanted to use analog sticks to simulate putting weight on the edges to lean) Meaning they have to take the time to figure out *everything* before actually crafting the game

I've been working on prototypes since before they announced their game. I've had the same controls since the beginning. They first caught fire for lying about the first trailer saying it was gameplay, it wasn't. A lot more controversy surrounded them as they lost their programmer and everything else. Yet still, people supported them. They said they messaged me about programming for them on reddit, they didn't. I may have talked to them along time ago about wanting to program for them, but they said they had one. I offered to do blueprints (visual scripting), they didn't need that either. So I did the only thing I could do. Make the game I was passionate about, I didn't need to wait for anyone. They are artists, so their stuff looks pretty. But I'm further along in gameplay. I spent my day today practicing kickflip back noseblunts down the hubba and nollie heel noseslides. It's already shaping up well.

Both creature and I came up with similar control schemes, although I had mine down since well before the trailer ever first popped up. They had horizontal, side to side flicking, I had vertical down to up style flicking. I posted my controls in this very thread. They later changed theirs to exactly like mine, vertical. None the less, we both arrived at a similar control scheme because that is the future of skateboarding games. I cannot play skate anymore after playing my game, it just doesn't make sense anymore. It doesn't feel right. Even so, my controls still are slightly different then theirs, the way I handle pushing, the way you will be able to style your tricks (not just the board, but the players feet as well). And it's all designed in the free-est way possible, as in there are a little restrictions or pre programmed things directing your course. Just physics and little nudges. No suction to rails at all. I already have a basic form of grinding, all grinds are in except darkslides and that's only because I haven't allowed upside down catching of the board.... yet. Flipping out of grinds is coming soon, not in just yet because I'm still dialing everything else in. Oh, manuals and potentially grabs, those things will come after the base is smoothed out the most it can.

That being said, I am in talks with artists currently working in the industry to put together a demo level. Something that looks good, something fun that you guys can all play for free and get the feel for it. I need you guys to get hyped though, people do not know there is another choice out there. Also, if you have demo layout level ideas, now is the time to share them haha.

Definitely man. Big things are coming soon. Share this ish and let people see it. It'll look a lot better in the next few updates. Also, I need names. Potentially, names for the game, and names for a company. Just in case Thrashed is too close to home for some folks, I'd like to have something better just in case. Better to do this earlier than later. I'll extra hook up who ever comes up with the name.

Man, the name is the easy part!
Just don't overthink it and it starts flowing so well.

    Flipped
    Push
    Gravity
    Weight
    Pressure
    Void
    Defy
    Distance
    Hangtime
    Dialed
    Frontside

Simple is sleek and still gets the point across.
Thought of a few more even..
    may be back tomorrow hahaa

Just my personal vote, but if there's no proper bowl riding physics yet (which I'm presuming to be the case) I'd vote street

No proper bowl physics yet. Just the standard physics. Half pipes and mini ramps work well for just with the basic physics but this is something I'll tune later down the road. But I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts. I'm leaning more toward street.

Thought of a few of those. Even something silly like Steez. haha don't know about that one. Anyway I'm implementing my own steez controls in the game... damn I gotta patent that. If it works out how I want it too, it'll be so sexy.

Gleaming the Cube was a movie about a californian skater avenging the death of a vietnamese adopted brother, and also the best/worst/worst/worst movie ever.

Joking aside, this looks fantastic though man, amazing to see so much dedication. I hope you have the willpower to make this a reality, all the work by yourself must be so exhausting.
