    Default Pre-skate exercise

Guess I'm not invincible, still unexpected at 24.
So I had a session yesterday, fought through some lower back pain.
Still a bit sore, but manageable after rest.
Never experienced this when I was younger but it kind of flares up occasionally?
Just curious if anyone else has this happen.
Obviously I'd like a way to counter it.
    Pre-skate stretching maybe?
Never have but it does hurt quite a bit so was thinking of trying.
If so, what kind of stretching do you do?

pretty sure no matter the age its a lot easier to pull a muscle if you don't stretch first. i'm only 19 and for some reason i haven't been stretching before skating lately and ive been feeling it. the best ones i find is a stretch where you sit down and touch both toes with both hands. also do a butterfly stretch kinda hard to explain that one, google it and you will see some demonstrations. that stretch is good because it stops you from pulling your groin which is a muscle that is mad easy to pull while skating. i remember pulling that shit once and i wasnt able to skate for almost a month

I get the back twinge every now and then... but then my work kinda takes its toll on the ol' spine anyways...

I don't stretch when I skate, but when I do have a session, the first 20 mins is just low impact cruising/no complys and whatnot with some tunes. Once you get the back sweat started, you are good to go!

    Right on.
    I'll look at those stretches.

Yeah, usually a mild session myself.
Have been getting more technical and using a three set lately though.
Got stamina back and always hydrate but lower back gets super tense now.
Hopefully stretching helps. Too early to quit!

most of the time i just roll around for several minute doing power slide, stall, messin around, no comply variation,

like ironz says, low impact is key until you're fully warm up

    Huh.. Interesting video Pifachu.
Too bad skateboarding wasn't mentioned haha.
I guess snowboarding is kind of similar..
Feel like snow would be less stress on the back.
    Could be wrong though.

I usually set out with a time frame and trick in mind.
Guess I'll have to try skating on the weekends when I have time to warmup instead.
    I'm not Danny way haha.
