You need live to skate online with people but as long as you are connected to ea you can still look up teams and dl parks and digg from the most recent list.

my shit never connects
i just the box on and make sure im connected to my wifi
i also dont have live.
when i boot the game up it connects to ea automatically.
if it doesnt you can hit start and go to the online stuff and hit connect to ea.
thats all i do
