Default Infinite Air - (Snowboarding Simulator) Release date 25th Oct!

Sure a few of you have seen this already. I'm super hyped! Check these vids below that really show its potential.

I've also started up a discord for any sim players that'll be getting this. Click the link https://discord.gg/jDcmCAR

the more I watch this game, it keeps reminding me of amped 2 specifically. such a great game, hope this is just as good or better.

The snowboard flexing on slides is kinda cool.

    Edit:

Watched some of the twitch stream and found out some pretty sick stuff.

    Bails confirmed

Snow affected by Elevation, Example: High mountain, deep snow. Valleys. Deep snow.

Cross platform sharing of things you build.

    Open sandbox building.

a few official snow courses included.

    Make your own competitions.

    Multiplayer sessions.

Complex scoring system forcing style, variety and clean tricks.

Progressive Course challenges to get you up to speed with controls.

No custom graphics but real brands everywhere.

Not sure what part of the team was streaming, could've been testers as they said to visit their forums for technical answers.

It looks pretty fun, I'm considering it over Gears 4 and Mafia 3.

Definitely a cool game. I wish the character and animations didn't look so fucking stiff tho it's awkward

It may be situational, a bit of speculation but they did mention different outcomes when hitting things at different speeds. If not affecting the animations still a pretty good start. Just glad to see these coming out.

Def some room for improvement, but they've got a solid name behind it and plans to improve/hopefully make a second one already.

I've also played the Steep Alpha and its simple arcadey as fk.. kind of fun as an adventure game but no simulator...

In interviews with Mark McMorris he stated he wanted it to feel like skate, so at least they got the correct brief. See below:

Where they have been super weak is marketing in my opinion.

that stiffness give rooms for improvement, allowing us players to make it look good(hypothetical) I always take that into consideration also hoping. as the case was with both amped and skate. to each their own though.
I feel exactly how you are about the sturdyness of the player character, but only so much they can do I guess. Iunno how they are doing the animations, but seems simple enough.

Another vid by Bobby - One negative to be noticed is the rails seem to be a bit sticky, ie for kink's. Still hopefully a couple of updates once it's out can correct that.

Looks really promising, looks at least a lot better than Snow. I'll probably get it down the line, I've wanted a good feeling snowboard-game for forever.

it's really sad how shitty Snow still is after almost 2 years in open beta. this game came out nowhere and already looks loads better.

Yeah there is a replay but from what I've seen its pretty limited, but hey its there. Hopefully they improve it over time.

I was really looking forward to this until I watched Momma's vid earlier today. Lack of a replay editor was a bad decision, if they manage to improve things through updates I might pick it up in a sale.

I like it better when I played a bit more. Some wierd choices were made and it's lacking in certain areas but overall it's ok. I will not break it. Want to figure out the replay editor. There is one and if you hold L1 and move the right stick it changes the cam when your riding. Don't know how it works in replay though.

Haven't tried it yet. Watched some Twitch streams and it seems like a pretty average snowboarding game.

I've also seen two streams crash to dashboard on Xbox One.

I honestly expected an average snowboarding game. I just want to build shit on mountains.
I haven't played a snowboarding game with a course builder.
Crashing happens with plenty of games, even if and sometimes especially when they're above average.

Yeah I typically give devs a pass on release issues.

I'll probably end up buying a copy sooner than later just to support these kind of games. I just got Gears 4, Battlefield 1, and Forza Horizon 3, so I probably need to hold off for a minute.

Not that anyone's opinion is invalid but I think what black box was able to put together in the time they had has spoiled us a bit. When I pick this up I'm going to think forward about it.. Seeing it as more of a skate 1 than a skate 3 that happens to have a course creator. Not that it's like skate but that's just an example. I do see similarity as far as the basic camera goes though. We didn't have a skate 3 replay editor day one, it was about the feel and the city.

I went ahead and bought it haha, it looks good enough after watching some more footage and I want to support the genre too. Haven't played yet, but I'll probably be streaming tonight.

Gonna put the creator to the test and try to build our local terrain park.

Anybody know if you can place markers to session a spot like Skate?

Nice! I've been playing for an hour or so, just getting the controls down. I dig the Browse Runs feature and the ability to save them. Found some sweet terrain park stuff to learn on. It is hard! However, it is rewarding once you put some time in.

I've gotten carving and slowing down before jibs down. Learning how to control spins and flips currently. Seems like once you start the spin or flip, you can't stop so you have to judge the amount before leaving the jump.

    Sick dude.

I've been playing most of the night, I'm really digging it so far. It has it's quirks, but overall I can see myself putting some hours into this. It's no Skate by any means, but definitely a step forward in snowboarding games.

Also, if we get a handful of people filming videos and sharing runs then I'll probably throw up a little sub-forum for the game.

To move the camera in replay mode or just in the game hold L1 or LB and you can use the triggers to zoom in and out and use the left stick to angle the camera.
Someone should mess with this and let us know or even upload footage of it. If it isn't up to par we could ask them about possibly updating it.
I believe this is their forum http://infiniteairgame.com/forum I signed up there anyway. I plan to post ideas and give feedback. Going to be a pretty tight community I'm guessing. Got to be approved to login even. I've been waiting for something like this to hit consoles already. I haven't even bought into anything new but NBA 2K since Skate 3 BC was said to happen.

The world editor is pretty deep, at least due to the fact that you can shape the snow. Raise it, lower it, flatten it, groom it, and then there are a decent amount of ramps and rails/jibs, nature items, and all that to choose from. I don't recall seeing much (if any) urban/street items like stairs.

I'll probably stream again tonight and show off whatever features people are interested in and try to figure stuff out. Probably sometime after 9 pm EST. I had a decent amount of people in and out of the stream last night and basically everyone asked, "Is it like Skate on snow?" Or "Is it worth buying?"

    Nice.

I have a bunch of ideas already.. curious if building is linear or not though.
I believe you can sink things into snow? What about objects inside of other objects that aren't snow?
Still going to pick it up but one thing that frustrated me with skate's park creator was issues with merging objects. I never got that "merge glitch" to work for me.
If I can put shit inside of shit, then it will be infinite.
How bad is the terrain meter thing I keep seeing? Can you build a ton without it capping?
If anyone gets to these things let us know, I'll be playing it this weekend.
