alright everybody....
embargo love keeps the details mum...
but....
without revealing to much i am going to give my impression of the areas and new features i used....
i cant lie.....
new online modes....
more team related stuff....
all that good jazz will be revealed very soon....
i cant say when but....
its definitely not months away....
so keep in mind im giving as much as i can...
choosing my words wisely and hoping i get my point across..

UNDER FLIPS....

1st...
trailer gives no justice....
the ramp slomo....
a reg kickflip under flip....
doesn't come close to match the awesomeness of nollie variations and 180 greatness...

so like we all read in the Game Informer article...
the underflip is performed by an extra flick during the kickflip and heels...
imagine the normal speed you do a kick flip in...
2 nice quick taps....
essentially your just adding another flick to that...
making it 3 taps....
BB did an incredible job with the timing it takes....
the underflip isnt just throwing the sticks around...
by creating the quick 3 tap quick flick the game auto recognizes that you want to perform a underflip...
thus making a beautiful single animation...
everythings smooth....
no herky jerk late looking stuff...
underflips are performed at lightning speed just like they would in real life...
as always late flips are still in just like normal late flips should be....
the two do not run into each other because of the speed it takes to perform a underflip...


what i was doin....
nollie 180 variations...
in banks...
side to sides...
flat ground....
so smooth to watch it happens....
in all honesty....
you will see them in my films in the future...
to awesome to ignore....
270 side to side....to sick....underflip manny....
oh the list goes on....
i went up a manny pad on an angle....
lil hop up to manny..
on the way back a underflip out.....
i was seriously impressed at the speed and how nice the animation run...


DARKSLIDES.....

1st....
the trailer shows off a heel catch heel out...
thats very important to mention because thats shows how it animated in and out...
i will say this now and probably more in the future...

the regular kick out of a darkslide is the sickest animation ive ever seen in this game....

it animates exactly like you would see in a real film...
extended leg flip out...
board barely flips back over....
and i got a few steezy landing to boot....
its seriously incredible looking.....

but..
regular kicks arent the only option out....
as you can see from the trailer heels are available..
so i wouldnt be surprised if others are available also...
cant lie...
thay aint easy at all so i was more worried about just getting in before i could get out....
everyone i got out of i did a reg kick cause i could actually do it...

to perform a darkslide you hold R1 / RB before you finish a flick with the analogs....
that will catch the flip trick upside down on the nose and tail...
to perform a darkslide you need to line yourself up right to land in a board slide....
the only way out is to flick the sticks again to flip the board back over...
if you "dark catch" upside down and are gonna miss the rail...
you can flick again and flip the board back over before you hit the ground...
which i did ALOT....

i actually was loving the darkslide....
i was doing them sorta slow on the very edge of obsticles so it would look like a quick flick in and immediate flick out....
like i said...kick out is absolutly beautifully animated....
dark lips....
dark curves around bent ledges...
believe me...
you will see slow darkslide stall ish lookin stuff from me...
too nice to be ignored....



SKATEABLE AREAS....

obviously embargo love prevents me from talking about all the great obsticles around...
specifically...
but i can talk about my impressions of the two areas....
so bare with me...

we got to play online portions of the university and downtown....
online wise..
the areas themselfs are much bigger than the previous online areas...
i wanna say double but manybe it was just because i was lost every ten feet i went...

GETTING LOST....

man...
remember S1 when you would travel down the road looking at stuff...
then turn around and be completly lost as to how you got there and how you got to the area before that...
THAT FEELING IS BACK WITH A VENGENCE....
being lost...
seeing more skateable spots on screen than you can shake a stick at....
possabilities everywhere....
overwhelming to say the least...
LINES FOR DAYS.....
the best part is the scenery...
you can only get lost if you dont reconize where you are....
that amount of detail creates the feeling of "not having any idea where you are"
cant wait to film...
everythings gonna look so good....
diversity is key...

i cant exspress how awesome it felt to be lost again....
i didnt see anything that reminded me of san vanalona....
and i was tryn to find somethin so i could manage my way around...
but i was left to defend myself with my own memory....
which didnt help....
everything has so much detail...
cant wait to get lost again....

DOWNTOWN....

as we all read in thwe GI article...
the three major areas of S3 are set up differently to acomidate space and density...
downtown was more dense than any area ive seen in skate 1 or 2....

obsticles do not over lap each other...
you dont run into obsticles when you finish tricks...
this aint tony hawks messy clusters of rails and ledges...

finish a handrail and bam...
20 feet away is a nice ledge to keep things going....
it gave me the feeling of some pushes here and there..
or balls out never pushing cause i can keep my lines speed up...
and plus...
density means alot more variety...
speaking of...
so much fun stuff to skate....
i was exspecting to see things ive seen before...
but again...
so much new stuff...
new variations of things...
not just the same rails down three different counts of stairs...
but each of the rails has some specific detailes...

that kind of mentality...
variation as a whole..
to me seemed to be the theme of downtown....
alot to skate...
alot of variety....
and alot of new architecture to be creative with....

obvisouly i liked downtown alot because of the shier amount of stuff to do...
but like i said....
being lost....
kid in a candy store...
the possibilities ...
i had lines running through my head at the same time i was thinking about bombing over this to get over to that....
so much new stuff its over whelming....
SPOT HUNTERS LIVES.....


UNIVERSITY....

this area is the are you see in the trailer....
well...
in the trailer you see a very small area but like downtown its quite large....
but unlike downtown the university is made with alot more space between spots...
more room to stretch your legs...
long ledges....
courtyard looking areas with a nice circle to swing around over and over...
some side coridores that lead you off to other parts of the school....
theres big spots, little spots....
long rails, short rails....
its just all set up with some nice breathing room inbetween them...

your not gonna be pushing for days to skate stuff...
theres plenty to do and everything more than close enough...
which is crazy to..
cause i was especting some obsticles here and there...
but for suck a large area...
theres so much room to arrange to the world...
so theres all kinds of architecture ive never seen before....
again...
more new stuff to drive me nuts for 6 months....

i like the university...
to me i see myself learning new stuff there...
training and getting better at runs and precision...
i didnt go done every coridor sidewalk lookin area i could...
but...
im sure there a whole other side of stuff i didnt see...
and...
the university looked like a university...
there were parts that resembled different areas of a university to help add to the diversity of the whole world....
just like downtown...
im lost in mins...
