miike is on and off. i mean, he does like 6 films a year, direct to DVD, so it's obvious that not everything can be awesome.

battle royale 2 is horrible, switched it off halfway through.

battlefield baseball felt like a cheap knockoff off shaolin soccer to me.

miike's kinda switched now.
gone over to the family genre doin yatterman(old anime) last year + zebraman (which i found quite interesting) and this year he's schedueld to release Another anime remake + zebraman 2 ?

im guessin he's taking a break from horror, but when he does come back with a horror im damn sure imma get the 1st pirate copy of whatever beastly movie he produces.

from like 08-10 the jp movie scene has been weak on the heavy hitters world wide, the focus has been mainly on upcoming directors and remakes of novels written by bored widows.

BR2 was a fail. consider yourself blessed to have not watched the end of the movie

i just hope 2010 - 2012 we get some thing to look forward to...

Miike's horror movies arent very intresting to me, but his action movies are top notch. Dead or Alive, Deadly Outlaw: rekka, and Samurai Western Django were sick.
