    Default Converting HR clips

I asked this on the ea forums, but yeah, big mistake

I'm an idiot, all of the stuff ive done so far for my latest solo is all in High Res, but when converting it using the FLV to API MPEG...... converter, I'm getting clips that aren't smooth

    help!

    try XmediaRecode

its free, fast and converts anything you throw at it.

the version i'm using is 2.2.0.0, i tried the latest but found it to be a little bugged...

i use a custom setting that copies the audio and a high-bitrate for the video to convert to mp4 - all while leaving the res' settings of course

    smooth like a babies bottom...

get xilisoft HD converter. Im Sure u can get it for free. Convert ur files into HD WMV format. Put it into vegas and to each clip add the following

    Saturation Ad- Boost Midtones
Color Correction- Studio RGB to COmputer RGB

    Than render it at 640-480.
Also for full screen use track motion.

I will help, hit me up on my gamertag AnonymousBTARDs

what i found too when dealing with HQ clips is that you have more options as far as adjusting different levels goes.

Like in my mini ramp vid that will be coming out soon, i've lowered the exposure by 10%, boosted the contrast by 10%, and boosted the color by 20%, and it looks so much better, its really amazing.

what converter was that from? I expect diferent converters would need diferent "ideal" adjustments

I use visual hub, have used it since Skate 2.

I guess every converter is different, but a good one should have it looking just like it does on skate reel, no quality loss, or any other differences. Which mine does.

if you want you can send me the FLV, i'll convert it, tell you what i did and send it back.

although i wouldn't really be able to tell you what i did render wise, Imovie has convenient render presets, (small, medium, large , HD ect)

just to be clear, you are losing all your quality on the conversion not the render right?

cuz if thats the case, adjusting stuff in your editing program isn't going to help as much

ok i've got your clip, i'll see how it goes, i haven't tried anything in the dark yet, so i don't know how much better i can make it look. I've got my amazing results on a miniramp in the sun. Good lighting really helps.

cant really do much, seems like we just lose quality in the dark.

i'll send the vid to you with two clips, just the conversion, and with my exposure/color/contrast setting (which actually makes the dark part look much, much worse)

I definitely see myself doing all my building/filming in the sun

pm'd you back, sorry, i cant make the darkness look any better, and the stuff i do to make the bright sections look better kinda make the dark worse haha.

Its weird, because the best quality for the darkness is whats on reel. But the best quality for in the sun is color corrected ect
