Probably my first mistake in the past..
But given that, I have not been given much advice lately..
been doing my own thing.. Learning about music theory, bars.
Trying to find my nitch really..
You could love one thing and hate the next,

Had that verse in particular for quite some time now.....Just seemed fitting for Violins of Violence. So glad I was able to use it and get such a phenomenal response on the video.

For advice; progression comes with practice and knowledge.

Learn everything you possibly can, then apply it.
Project and be vocal, which can tend to your Power and Charisma, always bring 100 percent.
(Use your diaphragm to breathe and project your voice......learn to take rests and find a breathing technique that suits you best)
Topics and Subjects. Stick to what is You, and what You want people to know.

I have been writing daily even if it isn't a rap.
Doing research, Watching interviews.. It's motivating stuff man.

Hey guys, first off.. Thanks for listening. Yeah, I see where you guys are coming from. I did day 11 but its just an idea for a chorus. My internet has been down 2 days now but it gave me some time to think about writing bars.. I havent got the format yet but Im getting there. Andreas I liked that but the music seemed to drown you out however I am listening on my phone.. Anyway, keep sharing guys.. Im vibing off of this stuff in a real positive way. Thanks again, something new when I get back online. Ill be bearing flow, bars and from the chest rap in mind, as its what ive been practicing recently.

I can agree, I have noticed it.
I seem to get lost in speaking/rapping it and sometimes I even get so hyped up I try to do it faster..
I think any progression I've shown is through trying to incorporate bars.
I keep telling myself it's a process, Having trouble nailing it but I am feeling what I am doing so
Hopefully doing my research and keeping at it I will show some more progress.
If you guys will listen, I will continue to share and try to bear in mind what has been said.

I can't exactly pin it on myself when listening, but it's one reason I've come back to share.
Another note, I haven't been able to locate a hip hop forum that was active..
most seem to have died out in the past year/two.
If anyone has some info on one of those that would be cool.

That would be because most hip hop of substance has been dead for years.
If it wasn't for stuff like Hilltop Hoods, Blue Scholars, Macklemore, Doomtree
Collective, Lowkey, Dead Prez, and Sandpeople I wouldn't have any to listen to.

Plus: Some Grime artists who are a whole different lot, but still fun and
talented to listen to.

So I started using my headphones' earpiece to catch the wind.. It's actually not half bad!
I kind of like kicking it with a headset microphone.. but I'm willing to bet there aren't any for good recording quality.
I may get something better in the future, but This is what I'm working with currently.
It's lined in leather but the part for sound coming out is some kind of netting

but anyway, If the earpiece comes off it might be useful for catching wind..
check that shit out if you're on a budget.

Day 14 - Really solid flow even when you went double time. Just need the beat a touch louder with your new voice volume.

Before I upload to youtube my voice sounds different, then the video finishes processing
and my voice will be higher or lower. Anyone else see this happen?

In my experience Youtube will add some compression to whatever you upload. Not really enough to affect the mix significantly. I could see it having more of an effect on a rougher song where no compression was used in the editing process, more so if volume levels were pretty inconsistent throughout. But again I don't see it having any significant affect on the mix.

Fair enough, I thought you were talking about volume not pitch. Youtube really should not affect that.

I'm completely unfamiliar with Ubuntu and Linux in general. Assuming there is an actual change in pitch and you are not mistaken, I would think your problem is more likely related to rendering with one operating system and playing in another with something glitching at some point. Who's knows, not really my expertise, im strictly a Mac guy.

For my songs that I upload to Youtube I:

Render the song in Garageband as a .aiff file
I convert it to .mp3 in Itunes
I render the video in Imovie as a .mp4

I think I'll try your method, I didn't think about it
but I record vocals as a .ogg file on Ubuntu.. It's a unique audio type for Linux.
Ultimately, Render to a .M2T Video File.
I do have the option to record Vocals as an MP3.. so Maybe I'll do that, and render as an MP4.
I also do it multitrack, Vocals one and the Instrumental on another.. only way I can as far as I know.
Just trying to think of anything that might be causing a possible issue, but I think that's all.

It just seems like you're trying very hard. Chill out man, relax with the words, let the blend into the beat. Feel it.

Everything just sounds very forced.

This is really the only advice I've been given so I Have been experimenting
with my voice and trying to keep a flow of some sort
are my words not a "fit" or is there something else you're trying to say?
I've been slowly trying to incorporate bars into what I do
but it isn't easy, I've been writing with no structure for a while now.
SO maybe this is why what I am doing suffers.. or sounds forced.

For a reference day 14 didn't sound as much forced. Hype comes naturally when you become more natural with your style. Right now, you're all over the place with style. Not that you have to choose right now, but keep in mind people like consistency. Just think of any rapper you know, they have a certain style. Find yours, and grow comfortable.

Here's a new verse. I turned down the beat on this one, hopefully I should be easier to hear. I have another one where I turned the beat WAY down just in case, too. Tell me what's up.

Voice was still pretty low but I could at least make out the words that time
I Thought the message was alright, but some of the words you used didn't seem to fit
This is something I'm still working on myself.. You have to really use emphasis to make words fit together ending your lines
if you don't it doesn't really flow, Maybe you can hear this after thinking about it.. and of course you could always just try another word with the same meaning.
I dig how laid back you're going though basically speaking it, but maybe try emphasis/new words.
