i liked it, it had great melody and ambiance. It was subtle and chill. I like how you didn't overdo it with the noise/sound effects, you kept it tasteful imo using them more to build up tension than throughout, didn't come off as gimmicky as a lot of dubstep i have heard.

Shit Slamooh I didn't know you were a dj! I'm digging this. Just kinda gotten into dubstep over the past 6 months or so. I agree with pawn that this is nice and devoid from some of the cliches (wobble + chainsaw bass, mainly) Really flows from song to song seamlessly too... nice work!

I followed you on soundcloud... you can find me here www.soundcloud.com/beat-chemist I mostly make some beats... getting into Traktor though and have a few hip hop mixes I'm working on with it.

What are you using to put these mixes together?

    Now do psy-trance!

I hate the typical Saw Wobble Bass anyways.... hit me with some Sine Waves

cool little set man. I havent played with Traktor or anything like that in years

    Thanks guys for your comments.
beat chemist, i listened to your stuff i liked it . i still need to try reason but ah well, too busy
My setup is a Numark Mixtrack Pro / Macbook / virtual DJ
a cheap but very efficient controller. I dont have enough room for and money to spend on a full vinyl setup . it works liek a charm though

i updated first post with my last version . its now 80 minutes

yeah !!! this is supposed to be followed by a transition (like 40 minutes) with a friend going from dubstep to techno
and it definitely got some of this beat (When 2 tracks are together, it can go this way too ).

    and you're welcome

I'm usually not into dubstep (I usually find it too electro for my taste) but your mix was definitely sick. Didn't sound like any of the dubstep I've heard before, which is good. I like how you started the intro too. I liked the feel to it, probably because it wasn't as "intense" as the other dubstep songs I've heard haha seems like it's a good song to cruise around. I'll download it for sure and listen to it on my way to work tomorrow morning

edit: 5$ if you make an ea skate edit with the entire song haha

thanks dude. The sad thing is people think dubstep is all about those electronic cheap sounds, chainsaw noises and retarded vocals... stuff that i can enjoy but far from being my favorite stuff .
By entire song you mean the 80 minutes set ? or a specific track ?

Not bad only thing I could pass on to you is having different wobbles at different speeds really adds to the overall sound in dubstep but other than that I liked the about 10 min or so that I listened too.

haha I was saying to use the entire 80 minutes set for a skate edit, but that would be ridiculous

I've been on a dubstep kick the last few days and this first track is tight. Can you cut just the first/intro track out into an MP3 for me? Idk how soundcloud/live recordings work... i have something i think this would be perfect for.

edit: bass wobbles are wobbling my screen. Perfect.

Damn Slamooh, you do dubstep justice, didn't realise you dj'd dude. I don't mix dubstep myself just dnb. Would be interested to hear a dnb mix from you.

What type set up using? I've still the 1210's i've had for like 12years, lol. I do have mp3 mixers however i'm not a fan and only use them if i have too. Too much of a vinyl addict.

If you're into DnB and are looking for any old classic tracks let me know, I can either rip em for you in HQ or I know quite few specialist stores that deal in old dnb and jungle vinyl and cd's

Quality, straight and pure quality. Having seen or hung with many of the 'major' artists in dub, I found this to be a nice alternative to the usual Dino-laser-farting sound ppl think all dub is. Once I saw you had a mix with Amon I nearly spat up my Cheerios; Tobin is SICK!

Next time the Zeds boys are in town I'll put them on your cloud; they love shit like this!

I can't remember which one I got a little while ago from your set, but there's this 30min set that I listen to on a regular basis when going to school or work. It puts me in such a good vibe haha It's that Jazzy 100 Final or something like that, so everyone, listen to that shit! Slammy's the man!

You doing all these with that Itch controller??

I'm just working on incorporating the Maschine Mikro I just got as a controller for Traktor to go along with my turntables... makes for some really fun on-the-fly juggling/remixing... I have an APC40 which I was trying to use w/ Traktor, but it's too big and clunky... the maschine mikro is much more suitable as a digital vinyl system controller.

You must be Serato if you're using Itch, right?

Most of them were done with novation twitch / serato itch .
I still have a lot to learn about juggling and stuff, playing more with pads, remixing. But this thing is so fun to use.
What about using ableton live with your APC40 ? Well maybe because it's more about pushing buttons rathen than mixing...
i m gonna check that maschine mikro.
Itch's the serato's software that "comes" for free with novation twitch. But there's already some sort of traktor like overlay for twitch in the box and you can use traktor with it too. It's up to you. I personaly wanted to be serato for easy communication with my partner :P. I like it. I never used traktor though.
    new production / set coming ? :P
