All I had to go from was this picture...

But yeah I honestly wont be working on this anymore because I don't like doing replicas due to people being overly critical on things not being exactly the same(which is fine I like criticism) CNBS is going to do a promo for it and you of course can be in it if you would like! In my opinion it is pretty damn close to the picture and it skates great! But yeah I was focused on creating the feel that the course would have in rl and converting it to the game. I could have sized some things down but it would be at the cost of flow. With things the way they are now you can skate from the top to the bottom hitting all the spots without pushing or going too fast to miss something. Also I thought that making a stadium around it would be typical so I made the walls and put it in the area so it looks like the roof is blown off.

Anyways I would have no problem with someone more focused on making an exact to scale replica using some of my stuff as a foundation as long as I get some propadoodledoos.

Did you not like it E?

Hey guys sorry to bump but some rl pictures of this course were just released a couple days ago and I was stoked to see that it looks a lot like the replica I made. If you exclude the extras I put in mine

Here are some compare contrast pictures below( sorry the pics are of both my indoor and outdoor ones)

    .....

    ...

    ...

Anyways Its by no meas perfect and some of the scaling is off and its missing some things. Maybe Ill fix it sometime but idk...would anyone like to hold a switch camera grind skate tournament here?

With the RL pictures you've post, I realize now, that a lot of it can't be remade. That construction thing definitely can't be remade. The rails are designed in a way that is out of our reach.

The only things that you could make an effort to fix: The two sets you made on the right are too far from each other. You made hubbas that should be rails, and rails that should be hubbas. Some of the ramps are too wide. There isn't a tree on that planter. There aren't pole jams by the dumpster. On the main sets, there are fewer / steeper stairs. I skated it with chiliFRAT, and he says it needs more detail.

You've probably noticed these things already so sorry if I've annoyed you. I can't do a quarter of what you do myself, so I'm not condemning you for anything. I'm aware that it can't be perfect so I appreciate anything you give us.

    Edit: BTW, guys...

doesn't the real life park look sick? Best course yet imo. Tons of rails and hubbas compared to last year.

Yeah I did notice all of those things and but i appreciate you pointing them out ha. This is perharps one of the hardest re-makes to do and although the hubbas should be rails and rails should be hubbas...if you look at the original course drawing plan i did it right. The width of the sets is definitely something that is not true to the rl course but I don't think it effects the feel of the course at all. The main set has eight stairs in the original xgames 17 course drawing so again i was true to that. I added the pole jams for some extra flavor as as well as the tree in the middle of the ledge. I also added an extra long round rail and two custom benches. Considering there was absolutey no detail in the drawing about the center piece id say that i was spot on at capturing the feel of the rl center piece with using the bar i did. Also i think if they could have built it with the stop sign irl they would have as it makes it skate effin smooth. haha Anyways with regards to chilifrat did he have nothing positive to say? I mean I could have added a little more detail i guess but only at the of cost terrain that i didnt have. What a lot of people may not realize is i am perfectly conscious of the things that aren't e-x-a-c-t-l-y the same( just like you assumed marco) but i wish people would notice the innovative designes and similar flow and look to the rl course...

Thanks for pointing that out. With that one layout, you did a hell of job. Now with real pictures you have more details to consider. I'll try to put myself in your shoes. You've got..

    - limited CAP objects
    - limited CAP space
    - inaccurate CAP rail designs (which we can't help)
    - complex courses to remake

Its simply out of our reach to get it 80% percent accurate. I wouldn't add own personal flavor to a remake to be honest. But again, I don't make parks so I have no say in that. My kind suggestion for things to concentrate on:

    - steeper, smaller, more narrow stair sets
    - distance between courses (especially the two sets on the right)
    - much more narrow ramps
    - removal of non-existent objects (for ex. that ledge / manny thing you added, 1st picture)

You don't have to do anything. I'll happily skate the one you have. All things considered, you did really good... much better than most kids can do. Oh and it's fine Fully. We are both just discussing. I rarely get set off about anything anymore. Text communication is very hard, when it comes to determining feelings.

chiliFRAT doesn't think its bad. Just like me, he knows that the X Games can only be recreated to an extent.

RL pics are a huge contrast from the original mockup. All things considered, it's a great park and a fun skate, but I think you might be better off considering this park to be "inspired by" instead of an exact remake, if that makes sense? Especially with the RL pics, there's really only so much you can recreate in game, and I'm not holding it against you (no homo? nah fuck it, full homo) because I've spent enough time in CAP to know that like Marco said, some stuff is just out of reach.

I'm simultaneously impressed and bummed with how much detail went into the RL park. But I understand that Xgames needs to stay relevant with all the new "legit" contests popping up. I'll watch it if I've nothing better to do, but I'll def check out the replays the next day.

And if this grind game of skate does happen, I'm 100% down for it.

Look man It may not look identical but its the best "remake" made of this thus far. So until someone does something better ill be considering it a remake and not an inspired by park.

That being said i do appreciate the feedback man we gotta keep this Shit alive! Im going to stick to originals though because then people have nothing to compare it to haha. As long as you guys are having fun and enjoying my parks then Ima keep making them. You guys should get footy at my little Tokyo shopping center park! It's a lot better than this one imo

I just had to say something about the park.. Not the CAP one, which looks really good.
It's just so FUCKING ridiculous what commercialism is doing to skateboarding... Street League has a nice, although somewhat corny concept of 'bringing the streets to the league' or whatever. IN TERMS OF SKATING.
Now X-Games, the biggest contest in 'extreme sports' (close to vomiting here), also tries to bring the streets. BY POORLY DESIGNING FAKE 'STREET' SPOTS?! This is almost worse than the fake graffiti they had one year...

This place looks dope. Can't skate it but looks sick. Pretty accurate from the pics, and the extras look nice.

Better park than last year, jesus that was a piece of shit. (tea cups, for realz?) This looks like it would be kinda sweet to skate sometime, but in a comp? Comp parks are just progressively getting worse. Don't think there has been one comp park over recent years I can say I genuinely liked. Was it a Dew Tour stop that had a mini mega in the middle? I think thats when I really stopped caring for comp parks.
