ayreon never has the same singers. its a project. each album usually has like 10 different singers.

I can hear that. A ton of bands that I LOVE now I didn't like at first. (White Stripes, Gorillaz, etc. etc.)
Music has always been a fashion statement for the general populace. This is not a new trend.
Hell, music becomes a literal fashion statement when you see how many rebellious punks trying to be unique all wear the same fucking "Punk Rock" uniform for example.
