Ok, as someone who works under the EA umbrella, a few things need to be brought to light. The skate 3 community is very, very small in comparison to some of the bigger releases. Millions of people play BF3 and Sims every day, only 100 or so play Skate. If you do a cost assessment of the website and servers, there's no way keeping the skate.reel going is profitable. Sure, there were tons of clips and graphics uploaded every day, but not that many users. Even the "community" isn't very busy, just the same people on both sites contributing on a regular basis. Now, there's inter-office talk that BB might be disbanded and reabsorbed within the company (similar to what happened to Pandemic) and if this is the case then there is zero chance of anything happening with the Skate series unless someone buys the rights to flickit. (Activision?) Maybe down the road on nextgen consoles, but not this generation.

But don't let that get you down, there's still hope. I've been talking to some colleagues over at Blackbox and one of my contacts is very aware of the issue with the skate.reel and she says that part of the issue has been the server restructure in North America coupled with crunchtime for SSX means skate.reel comes last on the list of priorities for EA and BB.

But they at least hear us, so that's a start.
