my pvr is officially dead. i dont have any broll or anything. tons of clips but all tricks and slams. might get an elgato today. are they good enough to warrant a purchase?

Yes man. They are very good. I think mine was just defected. I bought mine when Elgato first came out, so it may have had a few bugs in it or something. But they are replacing it which is cool. Definitely worth the money.
did i get you enough for a decent vid derk? i hope so. there are enough for a little bails section if you can make it work
