Copy DVD to DVD?

Hello guys, since me and a friend bought a bmx dvd and payed 50-50 for it, I want to make a copy for myself.
I don't know if the dvd is protected from doing this, but I was told there is always a way to violate that protection.

Anybody here has a good tip for copying a dvd to another dvd? with the menus and all? and to make it look as good as the original video? (Like, its a bmx video, as a skate one, all vx filmed, 4:3, nice framerate, I would like to keep that specs).
