Hype, speculation, talk, what you guys got?
So far I've heard about four things that may be revealed.
Red Dead Redemption 2, Digital game trading, call of duty signing a contract with Sony
and a gaming only channel for YouTube including live streams.

kinda hype. hopefully triple a's will make come out swinging this year and i'll have a good reason to buy a console(or maybe even build a pc.) i'll probably miss the initial streams though. bethesdas tomorrow and i'll be on my way to work by then but i should be able to rewatch them in their entirety on twitch right?

Part of me hopes tony hawk makes a comeback so ea shuts them down with skate years later.
Feel Ya on that, haven't seen a real reason to get into current gen either.

Dark souls was an interesting series, I found them highly entertaining but haven't finished them yet.
Pretty difficult!
The higher storage consoles idea interests me.
Almost didn't seem needed with last gen though.
I had several usb flash drives collecting dust that did the job fine.
I've also heard you'll be able to just plug in any standard hard drive soon?
That's kinda cool.
It bugs me that people say Red Dead Redemption 2, if they do announce another title to the series, it won't be Redemption, it will have a new title. /endbitching
All I want to see from E3 is more Fallout 4 goodies, everything else is just background noise.

Hey, that's possible. It might not even be at E3.
I was just thinking about Undead Nightmare and how it could be considered a step in another direction before the sequel.
It reminds me of how Alan Wakes American Nightmare became an arcade release.
Did you play through bioshock infinite?
I'm new to the bioshock series and played through because I had it downloaded for free a previous month.
It reminds me of the fallout 4 theme from the trailer.
Colorful, but turns dark pretty quickly.
This is an interesting thing.. Atleast with bioshock infinite the darker environments were game changing moments that made it kind of tough to keep looking for supplies.
The previous fallout games seemed to have a lack of color but you knew what to expect.
The first game was called Red Dead Revolver, then Red Dead Redemption, so if a new one comes, it will be Red Dead ___________. Assuming it starts with a R to continue the alliteration, but not Redemption 2. The only way I can see them continuing the Redemption story is if you got to play as John Marston when he was in the gang before he got shot and left to die. Otherwise, the story is pretty much fully laid out in the game, some say Jack's story afterwards would be interesting, but he was just a brat to me. Not a memorable character at all, much less interested if an entire game revolved around him. Rockstar has started from scratch both times, Revolver and Redemption have nothing in common besides the old west era, so I'm assuming the trend would continue. I would love to see the next game be announced at E3, just bugs me when people assume it'll be RDR2, especially when it's just a rumor to begin with.

There isn't much inside information these days.
I wouldn't say I trust these unofficially blog gaming websites but I still like to talk about it.
Especially with a series that never really died.
Spoiler warnings? Meh, probably right about the characters.
Grand theft auto as an example had new characters every sequel but they kept it a series.
Sharing those ideas and technology could be cool.

I didn't spoil anything, if you're referring to the 'got shot and left to die' part, that is what John says when he refers to his past during the game, that's why he was done with the gang. Plus, if you haven't played Read Dead Redemption by now, what the fuck is wrong with you? Rumors should never be taken seriously though, I would be ecstatic for a new Read Dead, but I just refuse to believe anything until Rockstar says otherwise. Just as I refused to believe anyone until Bethesda announced Fallout 4. Discussing the idea of it is fine, just don't get hyped over something that could possibly never happen. It's really disappointing to feel like your game is in the making, when in reality, it never comes to be, that shit is depressing. With how popular Red Dead Redemption was, that almost guarantees a new game, they are a business after all and the people demand it. Loads of people are still upset over RDR not being on pc though, maybe they'll finally announce that? haha. You seen the video of the voice actor for John? His name is Rob Wiethoff and doing John Marston's voice was the only thing he ever really did for his career, because that's all he wanted from the industry. A few little commercials, but that's it besides RDR. Just a regular joe who got the amazing opportunity to voice the main character of a glorious game.

red dead redemption had better online than gta v. imo.
I see hype and speculation as two completely different things.
Red Dead was a hit, rockstar has some money, we speculate that a sequel could come out.
I don't know that hearing it didn't come out after talking about it would be depressing haha.
It's just talk until it's official, then it's hype.

Hype versus speculation is an interesting subject though.
Once another game is made public everything becomes hype.
What are the developers going to do this time? The grey area is where the mind wonders and ultimately lets a couple of people down when they have these high expectations from word of someone who isn't on the inside.
These days it almost seems as if that hope is what drives part of the fanbase for a series.
While there are still people who are just happy to see that they are making something new.

If I can play Skate 1, 2 or 3 on Xbox One, I will be super happy.
But they probably won't be chosen for this since they're not Xbox exclusive games.
true there's more to do...a lot more to do. GTAO broke some of the best features tho. in RDR you wouldn't show up on radar unless you were sprinting or firing your weapon. plus hunting, poker, etc. i love GTA V so much i bought it four times but online is nothing but a circle jerk.

I guess some is better than none, but meh.. been out a while and I'm not all that interested in the Xbox one lineup just yet. E3 entices me more, but still feels like a leap especially if they cant do something simple like backwards compatibility on all 360 games.
I would say buy a capture card versus having the Xbox one features for some 360 games.
More about the cross generation line up...
I think I'll find myself more likely to buy the 360 version of a game, even if I do buy an Xbox one when it comes to those games that are on both generations. If the game isnt current gen exclusive I'm not really enticed to have one version with "dynamic shadows/lighting" personally.

^^ cool. i was watching on p3/p4 (switching between for various reasons) but was getting spotty connection during EA so i stopped (didn't really care about what they were showing anyway). i gotta catch up on shit i missed.

There's really only been two exceptions for cross generation games I would buy on current gen.
NBA 2K and GTA V.
NBA 2K games are very sad on the last gen side.
GTA V on current gen has new console exclusive shit coming.
Fallout 4 Mods to be cross platform and avalible on xbox one.

holo lens looks awesome. would be fun for casual stuff like the sims and city builders. same for like strategy games and dungeon crawlers and most top down games. imagine a game like dungeon keeper in 3d working multiple levels of a dungeon at the same time with multiple players. would be sick. so much possibility.

Hololens and Minecraft with my nephew and niece. apparently they have a halo 5 demo, nothing playable just walking through a level er something. wonder whats gonna happen the hololens for fps and other games. seems restrictive until your imagination lets loose. We will have to wait and see I guess.

The Last Guardian and Final Fantasy was a really nice surprise too. 10 years in the making they both should be quite the spectacle.

Really made me think about the Skate VS. Tony Hawk Comparison.
I'm all for the hype and spread of that franchise, it was fun back in the day.
I don't know that I can agree with that writer though.
They were saying that tony hawk somehow felt more forgiving.
For me that arcade style took many more years to learn.
I would even say the tony hawk games were for the hardcore gamers after seeing skate.
I still don't fully understand how to do everything in the tony hawk games.
It's a funny story but Project 8 on Xbox 360 had me and my friends attempting to play realistic games of SKATE.
We would skate in real life then go to my friends house.
A majority of the time we couldn't figure out how to replicate eachothers fliptricks.
The game had always been about shredding.
We got into the first skate game immediately.
My friends were soon showing me up there after.

I think you confused him because "console exclusive" refers to stuff that isn't coming to PC, or is specifically for one console over the other. You're thinking "Current-gen exclusive"

the only stuff that's been said by Rockstar about new things for consoles is the replay editor. that's all. PS4 and Xbone.
im sure in the future though updates will be different for each iteration of the game. restrictions from older hardware basically.

They confirmed releasing the updates for current gen and are "planning" to release everything on every platform.
They did talk about the memory on last gen and its potential to hurt the overall experience.
I wouldn't get too hyped about last gen on the off chance it doesn't happen.
Seems odd to say at some point they knew they would reach a limit if it was a definite thing.
Skate 3 knocked the editor out of the park though, so, might be possible but just saying.
